As the world celebrates the World Refugee Day, a legal practitioner and
Peace Scholar Abiola Ruth Adimula has called on Nigerian government to make more proactive measure to ensure good health facilities, provision of welfare items and economic empowerment of internally displaced people.

She who stated this in a press statement personally signed on Saturday and obtained by THESOURCEnews said, that is very important for the government to empowered them to be self-reliance in other to contribute their quota in the society.

According to United Nation High Commissioner for Refugee, UNHCR
Filippo Grandi said that there are 65.3 million forcibly displaced people around the world, More than 21 million of these people are refugees and 10 million are stateless.

Adimula expressed worry over condition of IDPs in Nigeria amidst of COVID-19, "there are deep concerns among internally displaced persons in the north-eastern region of Maiduguri over the spread of the coronavirus, thousands of displaced people are crammed into state-controlled camps".
