The Antananarivo of Madagascar has been placed into a new full lockdown following a rapid surge of the virus infections in the capital. The presidency announces on Sunday.

The region of Analamanga where the capital is located is returning to full lockdown,” the presidency said in a statement on Sunday morning.



There shall be no movement within the region starting from Monday to July 20th.



A curfew has been implemented in the Analamanga region. No one is allowed to roam the area. All movements will be restricted to one person from each household to go out between the hour of 6am to 12pm midnight everyday.


Measures have been taken “because of the spread of the epidemic and the increase of COVID-19 cases,”.

The lockdown which have been eased for two months due to the reduced confirmed cases of covid-19, Madagascar has in recent days seen an exponential rise in daily cases, rising to a record of 216 cases on Saturday.

The recent record came after 675 people were tested.



So far there have been nearly 24,000 experiments on the poor island.

Both policy meetings must now be held by video conferencing, with court sessions suspended.

They still have that all-powerful, wonder-working anti-Covid 19 fruit juice, right?

They should proceed to administer it to all those that have tested positive.

Madagascar has found the cure, indeed.
