Job Description: Senior IP Engineer
Summary
The Senior IP Engineer, working in the IP unit of the Technology department, is a hands-on role, responsible for the design, implementation and operation of the MPLS core network, tier 2- & 3-line support for all network functions
Responsible for:
• Providing and updating high- and Low-level network design documents
• Ensure the effective end-to-end management of all IP and Backbone infrastructure with no or minimum impact on network quality customer service and high availability and reliability
• Liaise with managed service providers to ensure the effective management and operation of the MPLS network according to industry best standard and practice is always maintained
• Ensure Customers complaints related to IP and core network issue (internal and external) are resolved within SLA and KPI
• Collaborate with other department in the research and development of new product, and integration of the operational requirement for new services and technologies supported by core network operations and services
• Ensure network resilience for all network nodes, i.e. Edge routers, switches, servers in line with agreed network availability KPI
• Manage integrity of core network and configuration of servers, software, routers, switches and other required network devices
• Ensure periodic information security reviews are performed to identify network risks, and investigate security breaches on Vobiss’s network and manage appropriate controls to mitigate risks
• Monitor internal and external information security trends and report regularly to technology management information security related activities possible risks to the organization
• Design and build servers to automate tasks and ensure effective operations
• Work with other functional units or department to develop and build and test product models for commercial purposes
• Assist to train NOC staff for tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting network issues
• Monitor and maintain performance of MPLS core network and ensure consistent improvement of network performance, capacity and scalability Backbone infrastructure
• Ensure effective network capacity planning and optimization, and redundancy and resilient MPLS network
• Monitor and maintain high network availability and security for effective business continuity
• Escalate to Technology management, all network issues to ensure the network is effectively maintained and reflects Business needs, service-level and availability and other technology requirement
• Mentor and coach for work performance and career enhancement, junior network engineering staff

Qualification / Technical Experience
• Bachelor’s degree/HND in a related field, plus five to eight years of experience in telecommunications/service provider industry is desired. Professional certifications are a plus.
• Have advanced knowledge of networking technologies such as Cisco router and switch hardware, Cisco IOS, IOS XE, IOS XR operating systems, OSPF and BGP routing protocols, IPv4/v6 subnetting and routing, and SD-WAN
• At least 3 of the following certifications: Cisco (CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, CCNP, CCDE, CCIE), Juniper (JNCIP), Red Hat (RHCE) and CompTIA (A+, Network+).
• Knowledge of MPLS, T-1, 802.3, 802.3af(ix), 802.11abgnac, TCP, BGP,UDP, GRE, IPSec, IP is a plus.
• VMware design and implementation.
• Experience with various CPE including Cisco, Mikrotik, Juniper etc.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, and customer relation skills
• Cisco networking industry experience and knowledge of products and protocols.
• Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills with Routing/Switching/Wireless across Cisco platforms are highly desired.
• Advanced understanding of Network Security and experience with Cisco firewalls is desirable.
• Knowledge of use of Wireshark or similar network capture tools and their use to diagnose IP related issues.
• Knowledge of Network Management Systems (Cisco PI, Solarwinds, etc.).
• Uses knowledge of technology, products and services to build enterprise networking solutions.

Job Description –IP/ Fibre Optic Engineer
Summary
Plan and execute end to end service delivery in the Transport network to ensure all connectivity requirements to all locations/nodes in the shortest possible time
Job Role
• Conduct route selection and capacity planning for Optical Network Design (WDM/SDH/IP).
• Coordinate the traffic requirements for all stakeholder groups and consolidating into national and inter-regional route requirements for onward design and build.
• Collect statistics from the various monitoring tools and perform post implementation analysis on all routes and provide recommendations and solutions towards improvements on network quality where required.
• Provide support in the selection of suitable transmission sites through the conduct of site surveys.
• Assist in executing complex assignments requiring the use of advanced transmission planning techniques, resulting in the development of new system plans.
• Manage the coordinators and supervisors to ensure they perform their work effectively.
• Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure telecom networks are effectively maintained and reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements and other technology parameters
• Support and maintain plans to ensure telecom systems capacity meets existing and future requirements
• Assist to preparing Telecommunication device and cabinet location, layout, cable block diagrams and schematics
• Ensure that all client systems are effectively connected and operational
• Perform optical Link Profiling, Link and Traffic Engineering for optical network.

Qualifications & Technical Experience
• B.Sc/HND . in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
• Minimum of four years of technical engineering experience deploying and supporting IP LAN/WAN technologies is required
• CFOT or relevant Fibre Network certifications are preferred
• CCNA or relevant Cisco Network certifications are preferred
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills are required
• Experience in service validation, gateway support and troubleshooting fibre optic network infrastructure
• Thorough knowledge of networking concepts, including OSI model, Ethernet and TCP/IP specifically.
• WAN connectivity such as, E-LAN, VPLS, and MPLS
• Good working knowledge with Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches
• Expertise in configuration of Virtual Local Area Networks using routers and multi-layer switches and supporting RSTP/MSTP along with troubleshooting of inter-VLAN routing and VLAN trunking using 802.1Q
• Wi-Fi experience is required

JOB TITLE: Fibre Network/ Telecommunications Project Manager
We are looking to recruit a telecoms project manager to work on a regional fibre build programme on behalf of a telecoms / ISP.
Working from home / from our offices in Ikoyi Lagos. Candidate will be looking at project sites around the northern section of Lagos State and will own project delivery for both new Backbone and Access Fibre Networks. He/ she will be supported by an operations team that will take project delivery responsibility for both backbone and access fibre networks.
A background in project management in telecoms fibre / copper network build is essential with a 5-6 years track record of success within this environment. This is essential, so a proven track record in telecoms civils / fibre build is a must.
The role is also a highly client facing role and experience of working on or around similar projects would be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities:
• Leading the project team responsible for the network delivery of both fibre networks. Responsible for the project management of the design, build and delivery of the cables in the group from the DP to customer premises.
• This is going to be a fast moving, aggressive roll out so you should be well versed in a similar telecoms environment and you`ll be able to point to a track record of delivering on time and within budget.
• Act as the owner of Network Delivery on assigned projects internally and externally and will be responsible for the day to day management of the planning, design and build to the agreed design, budget and time scale.
• PoP and colocation management

Skills and Experience:
• Proven track record of the delivery of fibre and copper-based solutions.
• An understanding of the project life cycle linked to delivering a national ISP network.
• Formal methodology background (Prince 2, PMP) combined with a think on your feet attitude that allows the project to be delivered on time, and within budget.
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience of project planning processes, techniques, methodologies, risk and commercial savvy.
• Stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict management skills.
• Ability to manage uncertainty and understand the impact of this on the project; proactive and forward-looking.
• The ability to push back when needed whilst keeping the customer happy.
• Understanding of business drivers and complex organizational designs.
• Knowledge of telecoms business planning and provisioning process.
• Ability to interact with technical engineers inside the business and non-technical customers outside of the company
