The magazine France Football who is responsible for organizing the Balon d’or has made the announcement this week, saying it was impossible to award the prestigious honour in a season so disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

I have therefore decided to ask football lovers on this forum to select their top performers for this year despite the unexpected lockdown arising from covid 19.

Please note that the award is for European league only.

Who was your most consistent footballer this season? I have listed a few, you can vote for anyone, you are also free to expand the names.

1. Robert Lewandowski: There have only been two games in 2020 in which Robert Lewandowski failed to score. He scored in the other 16, racking up 21 goals helping Bayern Munich to domestic double in the process. Robert Lewandowski has scored 55 goals this season and 21 in 18 since the start of 2020. Goalscoring for this guy is at computer games level.

2. Sergio Ramos: His form has been tremendous in helping Real Madrid reclaim LaLiga has been exceptional he finished the season with 10goals and claims the top spot as the highest scoring defender in la Liga history.

3. Lionel Messi: In a season considered poor by many fans, Barcelona’s all time best performer continues to shine.
Messi’s poor season?… he was only – ONLY! – involved in 46 goals this year.

4. Cristiano Ronaldo: After 22 goals in 21 games for Juventus since the turn of the year, the main contributing factor to the club setting themselves on the way to lifting a ninth consecutive Serie A title.

5. Karim Benzema: Benzema was Real Madrid's leading light in their title win, scoring 21 la Oga goals and a further 8 assists with 4 champions league goals.

7. Kevin De Bruyne: Belgian De Bruyne has dragged City through plenty of games over the last seven months, racking up the assists upon assists in the process. He produced a standout performance away at Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16.

8. Virgil Van Dijk: A class act, Rolls Royce of a defender. Liverpool's success of recent years impossible without him.

9. Sadio Mane; Mane has been Liverpool's game changer. He's been pivotal to their fantastic year when so often he has been the decisive player on the pitch.
Takes the rough stuff and comes back for more. His appetite to win shows no sign of diminishing and Liverpool's incisive attacking would be blunt without him.

10. Erling Haaland: Nobody could have predicted the stunning impact Haaland would have on Borussia Dortmund after his January move from Austrian football.
Sixteen goals in 15 matches is staggering for a striker who only had his 20th birthday this week.

as for me being a proud barca fan...I give it to lewandowski...scoring goals for fun isnt easy and if u say his league is easy, jus know that he is the top scorer in ucl and av scored in all matches in group stage..
