Don't be deceived by Linda ikeji and others: Linda and others started at the time when blogging was not known in Nigeria hence their great success, most popular blogs have been existing for long now.

You can't compete with the big ones: They is no way you can compete with the big ones, only few people will leave punch online, vanguard, instablog, Linda ikeji blog, Bellanaija, Naijaloaded, tooxclusive, ogbonjeblog, techloy, 9jaflaver etc to visit your small new blog on less you want to only be sharing links on NL and Facebook.

People hardly visit blogs this days: since the advent of opera news, only few Nigerians visit new blogs, most average Nigerians visit the big names, online news papers and opera news. You may never get back the money you will spend on hosting and domain: You may loss the money you have spent on domain and hosting and even loss data a lot.

You can never beat the big names in SEO: how do you expect to beat naijaloaded, 9jaflaver, 360nobs, Tooxclusive in SEO google ranking top page in music download niche, the answer is hell no.

Custom ads is not possible: how do you expect to get direct advertisers and promotion seekers in your new blog with little or no unique daily visits and visitors.

Are you discouraging the younger bloggers or what?? Those offline business you suggest them to do is there no one doing it? OK what do you want to say to those who will be opening their blog in 2030 There is no time to start something just begin your journey at the right and best appropriate time..

Op said the truth, but people won't believe. That's why most webmasters here on nairaland advertise e-commerce website more than blogs.

It's better you have something you're selling than making money for Google AdSense without AdSense making money for you.

Blogging in any form is frustration. For a start the condition for monetizing has changed. Secondly, the amount you would receive as a Nigerian blogger is not the same a person who resides in Europe would receive for the same number of traffic and niche. Traffic is another bane. I watched Tayo Alina's video about how much he makes. It was abysmal. It not enough to even cover his expenses per month.


Though if you could persevere, other sources could surface. Going into blogging full time now is one of the 1000 ways to die.
