Java. I had no interest in web development so I didn't feel like taking the conventional route of html, css, js route for beginners. When I finally found the fields I was interested in, I eventually dropped it for Python.

What field is your interest?

Javascript and Python

Javascript is the only programming language that gives python a run for it's money.. Most programmers don't see javascript as a very good language but why I find javascript so impressive is cos it is the language of web browsers so demand for it will remain high for the foreseeable future!
The disadvantage is it can only be used in Web development.

Python on the other hand is the fastest growing programming language in the world....It is very flexible .The only disadvantage I see in Python is you can't use it for front-end web development or front-end app development..

Most of you will just come online and be saying things you don't know;
Who told you JS can only be used in web development?

JS can be used to build apps
JS is used in building desktop programs (Electron JS),
JS was even used in space technology to program rockets by NASA and Space X

grin cheesy cheesy. I think there is a thread on front page where one guy was lamenting how he was unable to make money despite all the IT skills he has all cos of lack of clients.

Only on NL alone I know the number of persons I see on a daily basis that can create website from scratch .

Truth is give this thing 10years from now sef it'll become redundant . They are tonnes of materials online for anyone to learn.
You know nothing Jon Snow;
You think being a programmer is when someone says "I have started learning Python, I'm learning JavaScript" blah blah blah, programming is hard bro, not everyone who dabbled with a programming language are actually able to make a career out of it and become professional programmers. It is not a profession for the average Joe.

Don't be deceived by all these comments

Sorry to distract the thread

We are a Nigerian ecommerce start up building a platform to provide fabric retailers with the digital infrastructure for quality consumer engagement while providing a convenient and immersive online shopping experience for their customers.
I have validated our business model with overwhelming interest.
I have already sold our products to a few retailers and have several more lined up, with investor pitch decks ready to go.

We need talents in product design, software engineering, branding and growth marketing.
This role is suitable for undergraduates or new graduates who want to work in a challenging, interdisciplinary environment.
This person understand how to get things done and understands the self driven, interdisciplinary ethic needed to survive in a start up environment.

If interested, please send me a DM or respond to previous posts.
You must be ready to demonstrate relevant work experience.

Just share your personal view. I am a novice here.
