Augustine Azuka Jay-Jay Okocha popularly known as Jay- Jay Okacha, was born in Enugu State. His passion for football made him one of the most successful footballers in Africa.
Jay-Jay Okocha started his career with Enugu Rangers before joining Borussia Neunkirchen in Germany in 1991. Subsequently, he joined Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, and Fernabache in Turkey, in 1992 and 1996 respectively. Jay-Jay Okocha spent two years in Turkey before joining Paris Saint-German for 14m pounds. As a result, Jay-Jay became the most expensive African player at that time.
After spending four years in Paris, Jay-Jay Okocha joined Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer. He left the club in 2006 and joined Hull City. Jay-Jay Okocha finally retired from International football in 2006, the same year he joined Hull City.
During his career as a professional footballer, his achievements include: winning the 1994 Nation cups with his team, reaching the second round of the world in 1994, winning a gold medal at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, among others.
