First, if you stop reading Kjv, your problem is half solved.

Preparing a Table means giving someone plenty food.

In the presence of enemies does not mean you're eating the food in their presence but that despite the wickedness done towards you, God is still there for you, providing for you and protecting you while your enemies watch and can't do nothing.
