This piece of writing is not an official document from the government of Ghana,it is a personal observation and should be treated as such.Happy reading.
For intending travellers from Nigeria to Ghana one would need two currency i.e C FA franc and Ghanaian cedi as a legal tender.The exchange rate varies from time to time as it is determined by various factors that would be treated another time,having said this anybody wishing to visit Ghana would pass through two different border after Nigeria before one get to Ghana.
These country are republic of Benin and Republic of Togo,these country are french colonized country.They speak French has there official language and use the same currency as there official legal tender.The various border point that link Nigeria with republic of Benin which serves as the Gateway to Togo,Ghana,Cote d'ivore e.t.c.As at the last time i travelled October 2009,the exchange rate was
Naira= Ghana cedi
92 naira = 1 c
I.e #92 Nigerian naira to one Ghanaian cedi or 10,000 c has it is called.please note when you get to the border comport yourself.Ghana 10,000 or 1 cedi is in form of a red note.1c is written on it,

Naira= CFA Franc
350/320 = 1,000 CFA

the currency is also in the following denominations,in cedi there are 5c,10c e.t.c. there is also the coin of 5 peswas,10 peswas,20 peswas just like kobo.cfa has the following 10 cfa,25 cfa,50 cfa,100 cfa,500 cfa,1000 cfa,2000 cfa e.t.c.which means with your #350 or #320 you get 1,000 Cfa Franc.Please note that those who exchange money ( bureau DE change) in igolo,Cotonou and Hila condji,are mostly sincere people because they know that anything against the law of those countries( Benin & Togo) might spell doom for them so they try as much as possible to be sincere.Though am not saying there are no dubious people among them but it is very rare.
From idiroko you can cross the border with motorbike ( okada) #500 or less or more.It depend on your bargaining power.but #500 is reasonable.That is if you don't want to be disturbed by the Nigerian immigration official.please note here that under no circumstances should follow anybody through a bush part or shortcut so to say.They will drain you to the marrow cause they are mostly tugs,so follow the border path in any border you get to and make sure you don't have any incriminating stuffs with you such has drugs.for you will be arrested and jailed.After crossing the igolo board a car to Cotonou transport fare is #350.from Cotonou park to hila condji is #700 at the border i.e Benin( Cotonou) border & Togo border.you will pay 500Cfa at each border which is 1000Cfa equivalent to #350.from Anehi border town of Togo to Lome is 1000cfa i.e #350 naira.you take a bike to Ghana border 200Cfa approximately #50 naira.
At the Togo side of the border,you will see immigration on blue shirt and navy blue trouser you will first pay 2 or 3 Ghana cedi i.e approximately #300 naira.then when you cross to Ghana side you pay 1 cedi At point where you will see an official in green shirt over dark green trouser,after that point you pay another 1 cedi for yellow card if you don't have one.then you get to the point where they check your luggage.please it is adviseable not to travel heavy via the road has this will draw attention to you and you might be disturbed by the custom and immigration more than necessary.when you cross the border area you will see some young men hissing at you do not answer them they just want to escort you.infact except some holds you i will advice you do not respond to anyone who is not on uniform after the border area,straight you go to AFLAO PARK you can take either a bike,marcoplo bus or mini bus there fare varies big buses charges between ( 7 Ghana cedi= #700 naira or 6.5 Ghanaian cedi=650 naira.i.e lets say #700 or # 650 naira to Accra.If you say you are going to western region where i visited for business research you will pay 12,000 cedi which is #1,200 naira mini buses with air condition may change between 140,000 or 130,000 cedi (#1300- #1400 naira only).

From seme border
Bike to cross border=#200
seme to Cotonou =#300
continua to hila condji = 700
to cross Benin/Togo =#350
( 500cfa on each)
From Aneho(border) to Lome= #350
to cross border in Togo/Ghana= #500 in all
Transport to Accra= 7 Ghana cedi or #700
transport to Takoradi western region where oil was discovered=13 Ghana cedi or #1,300.

"As at the last time i travelled October 2009,"
@OP, between oct 2009 and oct 2014, dont you think alot of things have changed? The info in your ebook would most likely be outdated.
