The meaning of Chernobyl in russian/ukranian is Wormwood.
Through the toxic rain that occured after that nuclear explosion, the effect of chernobyl was spread quite a ways past the nuclear zone, falling on the rivers and turning them toxic for a time.

The events of the book of revelation can not start until after the rapture of the church.

Yet somehow I feel the rapture can happen at anytime within the course of the events. Who's to say with al we've been experiencing they haven't begun?

Whichever it is, I don't consider the chernobyl(wormwood) incident a coincidence.
In all honesty, God in his mercy is extending this grace age because a lot of us who are to be raptured are NOT ready.

Right . . . Tis the way of the world now that a 1900 year old prophecy would happen in such abstract correctness yet be disregarded as a lack of proof. What is proof of prophecy? is it not prophecy made and prophecy transpired? You clearly haven't even read anything regarding biblical prophecies and yet the devil toys with your mind to immediately refute it all as false so you can return back to your comfortable complacency which will inevitably lead you to ruin unless you reconsider your steps. Why not refute your refute and see wisdom in actually understanding what you are refuting? The prophecy predicted of a star named Wormwood (chernobyl in russian/ukranian) and something of it falling in the waters.

Now bring science into it and ask yourself what a star is? A star is nothing but a burning ball of gases in constant nuclear fission, as if it was not nuclear, it would simply burn off in weeks and not almost forever like some stars have. This prophecy essentially translated to "today-speak" as a "nuclear entity called chernobyl will fall, and with it's fall, a part of the waters in the earth will be poisoned." Did that not happen with the nuclear entity conveniently named Chernobyl? and did it's fall not poison a part of the waters? (toxic rain spreading out from the blast zone to fall in the rivers exceeding the blast zone, poisoning them, causing deaths, cancers, and  deformations in infants?

This is a period in time like no other.

Not just a single civilization is being threatened, but the whole world.
Anyone with a Spirit that is even the least bit sensitive can pick up the warning yells and pleads sounding from God.
This last Age is fast coming to an end! God is wrapping up His affairs with earth and is soon to take his own and leave the rest to the dogs.

Jesus said "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place". We are that generation, having seen 1 of these things, we will see/experience it all, especially his coming.

So whatever your spirit is telling you, that you should do.

one thing is certain , the activities discribed in the books of revealation will not exactly happen just as every lay mans physical eyes and mind are able to discern,its a spiritual book , it requires spiritaul discernment and divine revealation and wisdom to understand it.

One of those discernments being to disregard "time" as a limiting factor, as time is only a factor in this earthly realm and not the spiritual realm where these prophecies came from.
