Nigeria And Insecurity: An Impending Doom! by VGSocial: 12:39pm On Nov 30, 2020
Over the weekend, reports have it that the much-feared terrorists Boko Haram invaded a farming community in Jere Local Government, Borno state. The terrorist reportedly decapitated 43 rice farmers and kidnapped women. A subsequent report stated that the death toll is 110.

The issue of insecurity is becoming cancerous in our dear country. People are being killed, displaced or handicapped. The government efforts in squashing this issue seem inadequate, as it has now become a persistent occurrence.

The killing of these farmers has shown how weak the security system in Nigeria is currently. There is no doubt this will hurt our economy, as rice is a staple mostly consumed in Nigeria. With Nigeria facing a recession, citizens feel insecure in their homes, and there is no doubt our dear nation may suffer famine anytime soon! How best should the government tackle insecurity issues? And how can we move from this predicament?
