What are the two main types of transformers?

Transformers are generally known to have one of two types of cores: Core Type and Shell Type. These two types are differentiated from each other by the manner in which the primary and secondary coils are place around the steel core.
For the Core type, the windings surround the laminated core; while the Shell type, the windings are surrounded by the laminated core.

What is the difference between a power and a distribution transformer?

The main differences is this: Power transformers are mostly used in transmission network of higher voltages for step-up and step down application (110 kV, 200kV, 400 kV, 66 kV, 33kV) and are generally rated above 200MVA. While distribution transformers are widely used for lower voltage distribution networks as a means to end user connectivity.

Why is the efficiency of distribution transformer 60% to 70% and not 100 percent?

Distribution transformer is usually designed for max-efficiency at 60 - 70 percent load as it normally doesn't operate at full load all the time, its load depends on distribution demand. While, power transformer is designed for maximum efficiency at 100 percent load as it always runs at 100% (percent) load being near to generating station.

Which type of connection is used in a distribution transformer?

The three-phase Voltage and Current:-
Delta-star connected transformers are used in low power distribution with the primary windings and providing a three-wire balanced load to the utility company, while the secondary windings provide the required 4th-wire neutral or earth connection.

Why we cannot use DC supply in transformer?

As earlier mentioned, transformers do not allow DC input (direct current) to flow through. This is called DC isolation. This is usually because a change in current cannot be generated by DC, meaning that there is no changing in magnetic field to induce a voltage across the secondary component.

If you are possibly also looking to buy an affordable and quality power or distribution transformer, you can contact us for the current price of 500 kva distribution transformer.

Solar Batteries Prices in Nigeria (solar panel battery cost)

What is the best battery for solar power?
In some cases, lithium ion batteries are usually the best option to go for a solar panel system, although other battery types can be more affordable.
We have lead acid batteries which are a tested technology that has been used in off-grid energy systems for decades. There are also Lithium ion and Saltwater.

What kind of batteries do solar lights use?
Most solar garden lights need about 1 to 4 batteries to work. Two types of batteries are majorly used in garden solar lights, which are: AA size – NiCad(Nickel Cadmium) 1.2 V / 500 to 900mA, and AA size – NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) 1.2 V /1000 to 2000mA.

Which solar batteries last longest?
There are mainly three types of batteries commonly used in solar storage, which are: lead-acid, lithium-ion, and saltwater. Of these three options, lithium-ion batteries will last much longer. They tend to offer the best storage capacity also, but likely won't be the least expensive option.

Is there any real difference between solar batteries and regular batteries?
Solar batteries always use three electrodes. Off grid photovoltaic (PV) solar power equipment usually requires a battery to store the energy accumulated during the sunny hours of the day, for use at night. These solar batteries store power from the main sun light while the conventional batteries stores power coming from power source electricity.
