Sad: Nigerian Footballer Shot Dead A young and enterprising Nigerian footballer named Emmanuel Amuna was allegedly shot dead by Hoodlums on Wednesday 9th of December, 2020. The sad news was broken by COFINE FC, the club which Emmanuel was playing before he was shot dead. The club took to their Facebook page to break the news of the demise of the player. The statement on the Club's media page reads: "We received with Rude Shock news of the Passing away of our Midfielder Emmanuel Amuna who was allegedly shot dead by Hoodlums yesterday 9th December 2020". The club call on the security agencies to book the perpetrators of the heinous crime to book as they express confidence in the ability of the security agency to live up to expectation. " As a Club, We are confident in the ability of Security agencies to Properly investigate and bring to book perpetrators of this heinous crime which has cut short Emmanuel's promising Career and brought pain and grief to Family, Friends, Caffeine FC and everyone who came across the Deceased", reads a statement on the page. COFINE FC is Nigeria club that plays in the Nationwide League One, NLO based in Akwa Ibom State. May the soul of Emmanuel rest in peace.
