Frank Lampard says his Chelsea players may be suffering from fatigue after Wolves came from behind to beat the Blues with an added-time winner.

Pedro Neto's 95th-minute strike gave the hosts a dramatic victory at Molineux and stopped Lampard's side going top of the Premier League.

Daniel Podence had equalised in the second half after Olivier Giroud put the Blues ahead.

The Portugal forward tiptoed through the Chelsea defence before wrong-footing goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with a shot that deflected in off Reece James.

It came after a fierce Giroud volley from Ben Chilwell's cross crept through Rui Patricio's gloves to open the scoring for the visitors.

Neto was denied a late penalty for the hosts after referee Stuart Attwell reviewed his original decision on the pitch-side monitor and judged the Wolves forward was not fouled by James.

But the 20-year-old broke away in the 95th minute and fired a low strike into the far corner beyond Mendy to earn Wolves only their second win in six games.

It is a second successive defeat for Chelsea after they were beaten at Everton on Saturday, another game in which they could have gone top of the table.

"There could be some fatigue," said Lampard, whose side have already played five games in December.

"I hate to say it after a defeat because it feels like an excuse but even in the first 60 minutes when we were the better team, we didn't have a zip about us.

"We've travelled up to Everton, came back and then travelled to Wolves but everyone is in the same boat.

"We have a couple of injuries in areas which means I can't make too many changes so I understand that side of it."

Guy forget that thing our Chelsea are not that strong enough to challenge for EPL.. Champions league is our best bet..

Beyern Munich could play 8 matches in 10 day and still beat My team who played 4 games in the same time period...

They should just thank their stars that atletico Madrid isn't a high scoring side like Bayern Munich. Dem for hear am.

Las Las the score might end 1:0 in favour of Atletico in spain, then 0:0 in England.

Starting Kai Harvertz is a big fatigue to the team. Lampard need to grow some balls if he is to become a world class coach. Ignore the cost of a player. Give him Mourinho treatment let him wake up. This guy ruined Everton match, you still start him against Wolves. Team has all the possession still struggling to summon a short on target. As an attacking mid fielder, no chances created for the strikers. Always losing balls before 18.

Again, Lampard should learn to scream at players. Not folding arms like frogs. Look at Gaudiola, Mourinho or Klopp. These are title winning coaches. They scream, they shout, the warn you to wake up during matches. No dulling from their side. If Chelsea fail to win anything this season, he should be getting ready to be shown the exit door. This is not just any club. We are blues

I feel for the players because of the congested fixtures. But then that is no excuse for the loss.

He's not serious

His tactical approach last night was wrong. Removing giroud and leaving Timo werner on the pitch.

I don't understand why Kai is still starting matches

He needs to re-strategise.
Using Giroud, Werner, Havertz, Mount and Abraham in a single match is rubbish. It'll lead to low productivity.
He should learn from Klopp, Guardiola, pochettino etc

Why can't he have a stable 9. Werner and Giroud can be his stable 9 in second and first teams respectively.

Then Havertz//Mount Pulisic//Abraham as supporting strikers.

It's not fatigue. It's poor selection of players due to sentiment.

With Billy Gilmour fit, you are still starting the out of form Harvertz. Na wah o

grin that wolves number ten (Podence) and number seven (Neto) with Adama traore na wicked combination. Chelsea defenders always look fatigue when any of them holds the ball, I think that is what lampard is trying to say
