i am impressed with the way siasia has started he has given youth a chance, homabase and also playing attacking football but one problem i have with him is his formation. 442 or 424 is totally old and dead no one uses it anymore siasia should either go with a 4231 or 433 formation. you can say amodu used 433 and was poor but remember that amodu 433 was with 3 defensive midfilders, but right now our best classic players are in midfield with the likes of joel obi,mikel obi,haruna,ibrahim,igiebor one should not expect only 2 midfilders. the midfield yesterday was good in the middle but they lacked someone to hit the final ball just look at the space between mikel and joel with those 4 strikers.

you are wrong! A 4-3-1-2 diamond formation is a type of 4-4-2! It consists of 4 defenders, 4 midfielders(one of which would play at a free and wide attacking midfield position) then 2 strikers!

Diamond formation is a modified version of the classic 4-4-2. While all the midfielders lie flat in the classic 4-4-2, the defensive midfielder is more withdrawn and the attacking midfielder is more advanced in the diamond formation. It's also called 4-1-2-1-2.
In the early days of its use at Chelsea, Essien was the defensive midfielder. He played Ballack and Lampard on the right and left side of the midfield respectively while Deco spearheaded the diamond.
