The Madness At Fox News by Nobody: 3:26pm On Dec 31, 2020
The madness that's on show at Fox News, since it became clear that Joe Biden will become the next American President (interestingly, after been the first network to call it), is akin to the one displayed by CNN four years ago, when it became evident that Donald Trump would be President of the United States. This madness is such that the anchors on many of the shows can't stop mouthing the "unprecedented" numbers Trump garnered from the various sections of the American society in the last election, while conveniently ignoring the fact that his opponent, the Victor outdid him, even if not by the segments in which the so called massive improvements were noticed, but generally in the final numbers, as well as in the electoral votes needed to become the next President.

A friend noted that he thinks Trump's refusal to concede might be because he must've rigged the votes to have gotten the numbers he had, and therefore deeply believes that to have been beaten, his opponent must've employed the same, or better tactic, with the support of the establishment, considering especially how his barrage of inadequate fact - supported charade of arguments for the cancellation of results that he brought before the courts at different levels of the American Judicial system was laughed out of court. In fact, the Supreme Court in Pennsylvania, in its ruling in one of the cases, gave a one-liner, like they weren't even interested in justifying their decision with long and windy explanations, to show that they came to their conclusion after painstakingly going through the arguments presented by the petitioner, and respondents if there were any.

Having become obvious that the results cannot be upturned, their new pastime is Biden’s son, Hunter and his business dealings, and tales about his laptop. Yea, it is true that the left wing media isn't focusing much of their attention to the details of that unfolding story, but the way Fox News are going about it, you'd think they are goading the justice department to do something about it. In fact, it looks like they have developed investigators who have all the facts about the misdemeanours of the man, and are ready whenever they are called upon to present it. Like if they don't have their way, they'll organize a (mock) trial in their studio, live (hoping no one screws up by saying the younger Biden isn't guilty of their charges), to press on with their version of the story, regardless of whether those are true or not.

Baring any surprise by Republican Representatives in acknowledging and ratifying the outcome of results from the electoral college in the coming days, the focus should shift from the elections to the future of the Republican Party. I've heard it said, that the reason most Republican politicians are standing with Trump is because of his large cult-like following among a large section of the members of the party, and it would be suicidal politically to want to do otherwise at the moment. A feature of how influential Trump remains amongst the base is the fact that even after losing in the presidential, he's still considered strong enough to pull weights, especially in his ability to draw voting crowds, that he's now in the forefront of campaigning for two republican senatorial candidates in Georgia, who with wins can tip leadership and votes the Republican way in the senate.

I doubt President Donald Trump will heed Pat Robertson’s recent admonitions, and be swayed to concede eventually, and with the power he currently wields in the Republican party, may be tempted to want to run again in 2024, against the advice of this preacher, who's lost respect in

the eyes of discerning Christians for his support for a Trump and all he represents, against an Obama, whose politics can be criticised yet ran a decent and less to no scandalous (family) history before, in and out of the White House, making Pat out almost like a racist. I have always wanted to pick the brains of African Americans who work in media organisations like Pat's Christian Broadcasting Network, CBN or at Fox News, where sometimes there's even no attempt at hiding or whitewashing the blatant racism that's on display there. You only need to look at the way the black senatorial candidate in Georgia is portrayed at Fox, with insinuations that he's anti-white, as if whiteness is one ideal that must be upheld and not allowed to die, or risk being wiped out because a black person wants to be a senator. They even went so low as to put on replay the video (which appears not to have been done with the consent) of the estranged wife of the candidate casting aspersions on her ex husband. How does a black man, even if Republican or because s/he works for Fox, or as paid analyst or political contributor, come on TV to rant against his fellow black man in defense of whiteness, not policies bothering on issues that affect the American daily, but whiteness?

The ridiculousness of the subjects of their discussions make Fox News anchors and their guests appear very uneducated, unenlightened and unintelligent. It is very difficult to place how such people can be just as American as an Elon Musk and/or other Americans with forward thinking ideas, that not only have propelled their world to greatness, but so much for the benefit of humanity as a whole. I shudder to think that the kind of things I see on Fox, represent the majority of America, and not some folk in the wildernesses scattered allover that huge expanse of land. I reckon that the only time you'd encounter anything of the semblance of some truth, or fact for that matter is in those (less than five minutes) interludes between the shows.

In tying their fate with that of a politician like Trump, not even with the Republican Party, Fox News may be setting itself up for a huge fall, whether or not Trump's political career doesn't end with his failed reelection bid. The recent spat between Fox News and Trump, after the former called the results for a major electoral college vote state for Biden (and the backlash following that), for which word gained ground that a Trump TV might be in the offing, with chances that some core Trumpites may be poached from Fox; is a pointer to the consequences of the kind of actions the latter indulges in, when it seems like its linking its fate with that of an individual, even ideology, powerful or not.

I like the fact that Fox News doesn't delude itself that it's primed for the worldwide audience. Despite references they make associating with networks in different parts of the world, they are quick to remind everyone that they are primarily an American TV, for American people. That's why everything you see there is outlandish for the rest of us rational people of the world. In the end, it is that unsophistication that Americans (away from what Hollywood portrays them as), are widely known for that is in full glare, and on display for the rest of the world to see. When they had a President they agreed with, their madness was out of this world, now that it looked like they've been screwed, the shit that will be exuding from Fox News in the next four years will be monumental. I will be watching only to gloat.
