Day 1 – Genesis chapter 1
Happy New Year 2021
You are welcome to my page. Our aim is to proclaim the word of God to the whole universe as mandated by the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, the saviour of the world. We shall daily look and interact on a chapter in the Bible. I pray that the Holy Spirit himself will inspire us to learn from his feet.

Essential points

Prayer: As we go through today reading, God Almighty himself will teach us His word. Amen

Caution: On this platform, money is not our priority but the preaching the word as mandated by the great commission given by Jesus Christ.

Initial action: Read the whole book of Genesis chapter 1

Introduction to the book of Genesis

The word genesis means ‘beginning’. It is the first book in the Bible that gave us an insight into how the world was created, God’s purpose for man, the fall of man, the call of Abraham, the promise of Isaac and other interesting stories. This book is believed to have been compiled by Moses, a prophet, leader and a friend of God

Essential points

This chapter tell us that our God has a plan even before creating the world. He had a plan of how the earth would look like. He had the plan of how he was going to make everything beautiful.
It is logical to say that God had existed before the earth. It is also wise to say He had been in position even before other creatures were formed.
No one can explain the origin of God. Everyday new discoveries showing the greatness of God even outside our galaxy is being made.
Genesis chapter 1 makes it clear that God existed before all that we see and know. He existed before Lucifer (also known as the devil) and other angels, because He created them all for His worship and beauty.
When the earth was created, it was in disarray. It was disorganized. The earth has no shape and bearing. It was filled with darkness. Lucifer and other fallen angels were dominating this sphere. They were terrorizing it. They were subduing it.
A life full of darkness will ultimately be controlled by the devil. Such life will never amount to anything good.
In the darkness, God saw light. He saw beauty. He saw orderliness. And then, He sent forth His spirit (Genesis 1:2) which was moving above the waters, waiting for the command to be executed. The spirit of God was waiting to expel the forces of darkness
And then God commanded that there should be light and it happened instantly. The light was the first essential ingredients of creation, because it expelled darkness. Light brings joy and happiness but darkness brings suffering.
When God commands, it is done.
This light is no other one else than Jesus Christ, the son of God (Read the book of John chapter 1). For darkness to leave you, you must surrender to the authority of Jesus Christ, who is the light that comes from God. He gave each part of the day its own light.
After the light, everything fell in place. The waters were separated (Genesis 1:7) and the dry land appeared (Genesis 1:10). God has created everything needed for life to thrive on earth: light, water and land. Photosynthetic process was initiated. By his word, plants began to flourish in their kinds (Genesis 1:12). Food for the “to be created ” creature is in place.
