Yoruba Community In Gambia Launches D25 Million Project by BSdetector: 3:41am On Jan 04, 2021
Yoruba Community-The Gambia on Friday launched D25 million building projects and inaugurated newly executive while awarded individuals plus organization that contributed greatly towards the development of the Yoruba Community.

The said project of the building seeks to help the community to establish their own secretarial and houses which will boost the development of the community at large.

Speaking at the event on Friday at Metsy Hotel, His Excellency Abu Obe acting high commissioner said the Yoruba community has the full support of Nigeria High Commissioner, adding “We like to encourage affinity, progress and innovation as you are in foreign land.”

“We are not really the ambassadors but the people we representing are the real ambassadors because is true the lenses of your eyes people will see Nigeria,” he added.

He further commended the Yourba Community on behalf of the High Commissioner and assured them of continuing positive engagement.

Ajibike Olusegum MathewPresident of Yoruba Community said “today marks a great milestone for the Yourba Community the Gambia as we are here to launch the building project and to inaugurate the new executive.”

He said that “our coming here today is to commemorate the fulfillment objective of the Yoruba community the Gambia and to launch out for grater height as we have been longing to have Yoruba community house and last month we were able to acquire two plot of land and we don’t want to waste time on it we launch the project.”

The success of procuring the community in landed property is an additional advantage to the success of this community citing that it also inculcates the habit of regular shape in interested member and increase the membership as well as unalloyed commitment, he pointed.

According to him, the development of the Yoruba community in the Gambia has sweetness and unprecedented high success over the year, and the peace the Yoruba Community enjoyed in the Gambia is immeasurable.

The Yoruba people in this country are actively involved in various areas of human endeavor such as judiciary, bankers, and educationist, he alluded.

However, the Yoruba community is an ethnic group that spreads around the world characterized by diverse achievements in various fields and works of life and they have been in the Gambia for 22years. The community promotes unity and cultural heritage which will help to contribute long life in the existence of their culture in any part of the world their people maybe.
