Sleeping And Eating Disorders by kpofkpof: 2:16pm On Mar 31, 2011
Doctors in the house, i need your help.

I havent been able to eat for the past 3weeks. the thought of food alone makes me angry. the sight of food makes me nauseous.

To add salt to injury, for days now i have not been able to sleep.

I spoke to my doctor and he claims i have something bothering me.

i have absolutely nothing bugging me. My friend even sugguested that i should have some mind blowing sessions with my hubby so that i can fall asleep, but that didnt help. I am so confused as i just dont know what is happening to me.

I am about to loose my mind. i need help fast.

Try to see a psychologist and include fruits in your meal plan.

Exercise more. You`ll get hungry after a while. I also have times when i just dont like to eat, and during those days i generally go with something light like fruit, bread and water or anything simple.

Btw exercise will also help you sleep better. Otherwise, you might need sleep medication but try other methods first. And yes, something might be bothering you.

tried fruits and it helped but i'm stucked with water melon for now. i think i am cool with that for now as in that is the only thing that passes through without any hitch.

i exercise regularly so that is out of it.

what i dont understand is how something would be bothering me and i wouldnt know becos that's what my doctor keeps saying.

Anyway i have been placed on some drugs to induce sleep for just 3days, the sad thing is that after that if it still continues then i would have to visit a psychologist/psychiatric coon cos it might be early signs of depression.

i seem very happy though, i dont look a bit like a depressed person.

this thing started like a joke and its beginning to turn into something else.

i guess i need prayers.

thanks tpaih for a while i thought no one cared

You're welcome. Sleep disorders are very difficult to treat and the medications might be habit forming as well.

i suggested exercise because tiredness promotes sleep, but if you're already doing that with ineffective results then i guess medication is needed. Are you sure nothing is bothering you- eg exams, family, work, etc.

Also, have you been travelling a lot lately because that might also be a factor.

That's why i don't recommend pills or tablets either for slimming or losing belly fat.Proper diet and exercise is the way to go.

Although the information you provided is a bit limited, I don't think you have/had an eating disorder.

You should have to be aware that without food being digested in your stomach affects your total being,
some people may lose their thinking due to it,
If you lose your appetite, ahm, you should have to exercise
or do some works coz it triggers your food appetite,  wink

Go to a teaching hospital and run some tests. The test should reveal the problem.Maybe its your diet, hormonal change or infection. You never know until you run the tests.

just out of interest now; it would be about five weeks of poor or is it no appetite.
what is the latest? have you lost weight.
do you have any other symptoms. really you need to see a doctor probably a specialist in Internal medicine and possibly a psychiatrist i do not believe this forum can resolve your difficulty other than recommending that you get medical help which has been done already. it is possible others might have the same problem and so maybe you will let us know how you get on.
i am sure it will turn out well.

best wishes
