Good morning auto gurus. I'm in the market to buy my first car for personal use. I'm however constrained by a very limited budget.

Someone offered me a Toyota Avalon 2003 for a considerable price which I can afford. But I have some reservations which I hope to get the answers to on here.
The following are my major concerns.

1. I've been told severally not to touch a V6 engine due to the major car troubles associated and high cost of maintenance and bad fuel economy. How true is that?

2. Are the parts readily available and cheap considering the it's an 18 year old car and may be phasing out from use by this time?

3. What are the major car troubles I should be expecting to encounter while using the car?

4. On the outside, avalon 03 seems ugly and tasteless but the interior is quite good with leather upholstery and the large dashboard.

Please make your contributions on any or all the points I raised to aid me in making a decision.

The common car trouble you should expect would be engine issues(cooling system) and maybe a few electrical issues., Aside that, you're good to go.

In a nutshell, go ahead and purchase it if it's faultless or with minimal faults.

Don't get worried about its exterior looks, the interior is quite impressive.

It's a good vehicle, you'll like it.
