Breaking: Fulani leaders apologise to Igangan people for the crimes of herdsmen
the current tension in the country, some Fulani leaders have apologised to the people of Iganga - Specifically, the begged the people for the crimes committed by some herdsmen in the area.

Meanwhile, the police has called on the people to allow peace reign, promising to investigate and bring the criminals to justice ,some Fulani leaders have apologised to the people of Iganga. The two are the Seriki Fulani of Igbo Ora, Alhaji Idris Abubakar, and the Seriki Fulani of Eruwa, Alhaji Sule Mohammed.

They specifically asked for forgiveness from those offended by their kinsmen after townspeople narrated how they are being oppressed by the Fulani herders who kidnap and molest them in their own lands. The leaders disclosed this during a town hall meeting, attended by the new police commissioner, Ngozi Onadeko and a government delegation led by Fatai Owoseni, a retired police commissioner, who is Governor Seyi Makinde’s special adviser on security.

Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, the national president of the association told the Sun newspaper in an interview that herders will not obey Akeredolu’s directive mandating them to vacate the forests reserves. He said the herders do not need anybody’s permission to use a forest for grazing so far as it provides the nutrients needed by their cattle.

The Nigeria Police Force is reportedly planning to arrest a youth leader, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, over the quit notice he issued to herdsmen in a community in Oyo state. The Cable, citing the BBC Hausa service reported that the inspector-general of police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the arrest of the youth leader for his ultimatum to the cattle dealers.
