On the contrary, the twin turbo 2.7l is one of the quickest in the lineup and tows up to 9,000lbs with a robust 10 speed automatic. It is faster than the 5 liter v8 and even the 6.7l diesel. But then, you can't cheat physics. Longevity is always a question mark for a souped up small engine. Top notch maintenance is a key factor in how long the engine will last.

The 2.7 Ecoboost is very adequate. Better than the 4runner's engine by far, in comparison.

I am not talking about horse power or acceleration I am talking about torque. The engine may be adequate as it's still new but for that category of vehicle I will stick to a NA V6 engine or a diesel

The 2.7l twin turbo develops 400lb ft of torque (same as the NA 5.0l v8 ) vs 265 lb ft in the 3.3l NA V6 engine. There is no other NA ford truck engine currently in production that has higher torque. 400 lb ft is more than enough to tow 9k pounds especially when coupled to the 10 spd auto.
