I used to tell one of my then adult relatives when I was young to put on his seatbelt when driving. He used to laugh at me...until he was involved in one bad accident that nearly took his life....

Seatbelts have saved lives. Even in head on collisons...one does not get thrown out of the car, or thrown forward
