Marriage is Honourable, the Bed Undefiled (Hebrews 13:4)

The Marriage Institution is the oldest of all institutions.  It is an institution created by GOD as early as Genesis chapter 2.  This first marriage in history was between a man called Adam and a woman called Eve.  Marriage, an institution created by GOD and not man, is therefore a matrimonial union between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24).  It is not between a man and a man nor is it between a woman and a woman.  Same sex marriage union is never of GOD and will never be because GOD does not change (Hebrews 13:cool.  As a matter of fact, same sex marriage is an abomination before GOD (Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:26-27).
The man according to the word of GOD, leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife (not wives) and they both (the man and woman) become one flesh (Genesis 2:23-24).  Being one flesh, the bible says that “they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed” (Genesis 2:25).  The fact that the man and his wife are one flesh in marriage implies that:
i. Marriage is the highest level of intimate human relationship between any two persons (male and female)

ii. There are conjugal rights in the relationship between a man and his wife (1 Corinthians 7:5)

iii. Marriage is a lifelong relationship that can only end with the death of either or both parties involved in that marriage.  It is very important to note that there is no divorce and remarry in marriage as long as both of the spouses in that marriage are still alive.  When a person remarries, while his or her partner in his or her first marriage is still alive, the bible says that such an action is tantamount to adultery (Matthew 19:3-9; Matthew 5:31-32; Mark 10:2-12; Luke 16:18; Romans 7:1-3).  If you must separate, then you must remain single, otherwise both of you should reconcile (1 Corinthians 7:10-11).

iv. There is unity of spirits and beliefs between the man and his wife.  It is on this basis that Abraham ensured that his servant got a wife for Isaac his son from his own (Abraham’s) country and kindred.  Another reason for Abraham’s action is for the purpose of the preservation of the godly lineage (Genesis 24:2-4; Genesis 18:17-19).

In order to preserve their godly lineage, believers must marry people of like precious faith and not necessarily those from their tribal or racial background.  GOD warned the children of Israel against marriage to the Canaanites, Amorites, Jebusites, Hittites, Hivites, Girgashites, Perizzites etc in order for them not to be lured into serving the strange gods of their spouses (Deuteronomy 7:1-4).

Believers are warned not to be unequally yoked together (team up in a relationship) with unbelievers because light and darkness have nothing in common (2 Corinthians 6:14-17).

v. Finally, the man and his wife being one in marriage implies that infidelity or marital unfaithfulness in marriage is an abomination. GOD expects couples to give honour to marriage, and for the parties involved in the marriage to remain faithful to one another (Hebrews 13:4).  Married couples (including the unmarried) are forbidden from engaging in sexual relationships.  Hebrews 13:4b says that “whoremongers and adulterers GOD will judge.” A whoremonger is anyone who engages in sexual relationships outside of marriage for monetary gain or for lust’s sake.  When two individuals engage in a sexual intercourse, they become one body (1 Corinthians 6:16).

When unmarried couples engage in sexual acts, the bible says that they sin against their bodies and this attracts GOD’s severe judgement (1 Corinthians 6:18-19, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17).
1 Corinthians 6:18 “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”  Sexual relationships outside marriage by believers, implies defiling the temple of GOD.  We are warned that whoever defiles GOD’s temple GOD will destroy.  1 Corinthians 3:16-17 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

As we conclude this message, it is important that we remind ourselves that GOD wants us to live our marital lives the way that He has ordained it.  The bible describes the marriage relationship as a type of the believer’s relationship with the LORD JESUS CHRIST.  Wives are admonished to submit to their own husbands as they would to the LORD JESUS (Ephesians 5:22), while husbands love their wives just as CHRIST loved the church and gave Himself for her (Ephesians 5:25).

GOD expects that married couples live in chastity.  Proverbs 6:32 states that “whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.”  While 1 Timothy 5:6 says “But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.” This passage means that a woman or a wife who lives in pleasure (including adulterous lifestyle) is dead although she may still be physically alive. Husbands and wives must see themselves as one and must therefore ensure that sanctity of marriage is kept.  Both parties are admonished to keep themselves pure because as He (JESUS CHRIST) Who has called us is Holy so must we be holy (1 Peter 1:14-16).

To those of who have defiled their marriage beds, it is never the end of your marriage.  CHRIST has not condemned you.  Rather, He wants you to repent of this wickedness, ask the LORD for forgiveness and go and sin no more (John 8:11).  I pray GOD to heal our marriages and make them to be all that GOD has ordained them to be in JESUS’ name, Amen.

GOD bless you.

Again, this doctrine and tradition of men is against the very teaching of Jesus Christ. Jesus warned His followers against following or submitting to two masters. He even commanded them that in order to follow Him, they had to abandon Father, Mother, Husband, wife, children etc. for His sake.undecided

Those that sell these lies in the name of Jesus Christ are the false teachers and prophets that Jesus Christ warned HIs own against.
