EPISODE 01 Dana Jones, a young florist from New York City sat in her friend Millie's modest two bedroom apartment. Millie was also her boss who owned the flower shop she worked in. Though she was only four years older than Dana she acted like more of a mother to her than a friend. The smell of homemade lasagna filled the kitchen with its sweet scent of sauce and cheese, making Dana's stomach growl. Millie's husband, Todd, was away on a business trip so it was to be just the two of them dining tonight. Dana sat twisting her fingers around the gold chain she wore around her neck and looking down at the newly laid tiles that she helped to install. She listened while Millie ranted on and on about the decision she had made. "Oh my God Dana, have you completely lost your mind? If you want a baby then find a husband first. Or at least go and get fertility treatments." Dana rubbed her forehead before looking up at Millie, "Don't you think I've considered doing that? But it cost thousands of dollars for one treatment. And it doesn't always work the first time. You know I don't have that kind of money." "So what is your plan exactly? Are you going to sleep around till someone knocks you up?" Millie slammed the oven door shut. "No Millie, I plan on waiting till I find the right kind of man. He has to be smart and good looking. A man who is dead set against wanting a wife or children, but he also has to to be willing to walk away and never look back." Millie scoffed, "Well good luck with that. What man in his right mind would agree to impregnate you and then walk away, not expecting anything in return?" Dana took a sip of the red wine that Millie had poured for them; it tasted bitter in her mouth when she swallowed. "I don't know, but I have to try," Dana answered. Millie lifted her wine to her lips, staring at Dana from over the rim. Her heart went out to the petite blond woman that sat across from her. In her short life, Dana had experienced so much pain and horror. "Horrors" that she herself could not imagine living through, and even to this day Dana was plagued with the nightmares of that night. But she always refused to talk about it, locking it deep within her. Dana and Millie changed the subject and they dug into the delicious lasagna in front of them. The aroma filled their nostrils with delight and their taste buds with sheer pleasure. They both let out a soft satisfying moan. "Millie, no one but you can make lasagna taste this good," Dana exclaimed. She herself couldn't cook to save her life. After cleaning up they poured another glass of wine and settled on the posh leather sofa in the living room. The next two hours were spent in idle chit-chat, Millie doing the majority of the talking. They hadn't even noticed the sky was turning dark until they heard the first loud bang of thunder and then the lights flickered. When Millie went to retrieve some candles Dana went over to the window. And leaning her forehead on the glass looked out. She knew it would be damn near impossible to find a man who would give her what she wanted and to go along with her terms. please friend use a second to tap this link https://youtube.com/channel/UCMgIeQCC-12gOoWi75trcqA and subscribe to my YouTube channel. EPISODE 02 Jake Rayburn sat in the office of his grandfather's lawyer. He was waiting to hear about the inheritance he was to receive from his grandfather's will. Jake shifted his weight; he could never understand why they had to make these chairs so small. Or perhaps it was his size that was the problem. He was a muscular built man, with his long legs stretched out in front of him. Jake tapped his fingers on the desk, waiting for the lawyer to show up; he was not accustomed to being kept waiting, when the door opened he dropped the magazine he was pretending to flip through. "Jake, so sorry to keep you waiting," the lawyer said when he held out his hand to shake Jake's. "What's going on? Why was I asked to come here?" Jake asked with a hint of irritation in his voice. The lawyer sat down, loosening his tie. A drop of sweat rolled down his cheek even though the air conditioner was turned up. "Well, you see there is a clause in your grandfather's will." "And what might that be?" Jake asked. Clearing his throat the lawyer continued. "In order to receive your inheritance, you must be married." Jake sat back listening. His eyes narrowed as he stared down the lawyer, "Are you telling me that to get the money I have to get married?" The lawyer wiped his brow with the back of his hand, leaning further back. "Yes, but the good news is you only have to be married for one year. When the year is up you'll get the money, and there's nothing saying you have to remain married." "There's no way I'm getting married, to hell with the money," he said, slamming his fist on top of the desk. "That's up to you Jake. I must point out with that money you could open your own law firm like you've always talked about doing. And with five million dollars you could certainly do it." Jake got up and began pacing back and forth. It was true, with that money he could get out from under his grandfather's partners. Open his own firm, be his own boss. With a scowl on his face, he looked at the lawyer."Allen, there has to be another way to get that money." "Sorry, Jake. The will is ironclad, no way around it," the lawyer chuckled, "You could always buy a wife." A grin spread across Jake's face. "You're a genius, Allen. That's what I'll do, I'll pay someone to marry me." "Jake I was just kidding." "Well, I'm not. It will be a signed contract between me and the woman. I will pay her $500,000 dollars to become my wife, and when the year is up we'll get a divorce. I'm sure there is one out there willing to do it for the money." Jake sat back down and stretching he smiled to himself. "Of course, I'll have her sign a prenuptial agreement. All I need is a wife in name only, it's not like I'll have to live with her." Then looking at the lawyer, " Isn't that right Allen?" "Right," the lawyer said as he wiped more sweat from his face. Jake noticed how the man was sweating and fidgeting in his seat. He wondered if there was something Allen wasn't telling him. "Allen is anything wrong? You seem a little nervous." "No, no it's nothing," He shook his head. "OK then. So, Allen, you will help me find her. I have no preferences as to what she looks like; she can be gay for all I care," Jake said as he rubbed his chin. God, I need a shave, he says to himself. "Jake this idea is insane. It could backfire on you. What if she falls in love with you and refuses to leave when the year is up?" Jake smirked. "Leave that to me. I'll make sure that doesn't happen. The last thing I want is to be tied down to one woman for the rest of my life. And I sure as hell don't want some screaming brat of a kid running around." Jake turns towards the lawyer. "Find someone who doesn't want to be tied down." "OK Jake, I'll see what I can do but it won't be easy," he said, running his hand over the back of his head. EPISODE 03 A few days later Dana was having dinner at Millie's apartment. Millie's husband Todd, had returned from his business trip. Having been on the road for several days he was looking forward to his wife's delicious homemade cooking. Dana and Todd had met years ago; they dated before he got together with Millie. Dana knew what she and Todd had wasn't going anywhere, and seeing the love between Todd and Millie developing she stepped aside. To this day, they all remained close friends, always there for each other. "Millie tells me you want to have a baby," Todd says, a worried look crossed his face. Dana moved a lock of blond hair that had fallen across his right eye. She always liked the feel of his soft golden locks, he had such thick hair, and with his green eyes, so full of life and laughter. He never ceased to make her laugh or to cheer her up when she was feeling down. "Yes, I do. So please don't give me a hard time. I know it sounds cold, but I don't want the donor in our lives." Dana saw the quick glance the couple gave each other out the corner of her eye. "What was that look for?" she asked both of them. Todd cleared his throat before speaking, "I have this friend, Stan. He works for Allen Clay, a lawyer. Stan was telling me about this client who will inherit five million dollars if he gets married." Dana gives Todd a suspicious glance."So why are you telling me this?" "I thought since you want a baby so much, that he would be the perfect man to suit your needs." "I don't want to get married," saying as she picked up her wine and took a large gulp. Todd took Dana's hands in his. "The client doesn't want to be married either, nor does he want kids. He is also willing to pay $500,000 dollars. The beauty of this is that with the money you wouldn't have to sleep with him. You could afford to get those fertility treatments you looked into." Pulling her hands out of Todd's she played with the hem of her dress." I don't know. Who is this man? What if he's some kind of weird freak?" Millie poured them all a glass of wine and sat next to her husband. Sitting quietly as she listened to Todd explain things to Dana. "His name is Jake Rayburn. He's one of New York's finest criminal lawyers and one of the youngest. Thirty-two years old. I've been told that women find him attractive, and hard to resist," Todd stood, stretching his legs. "So I would only have to be married in name only?" Dana asked with a weary look on her face. Todd shook his head. "There are a lot of sick people out there. This is the safest way for you to go about getting pregnant. Let me get my buddy to run it past the client, see what he says." Dana walked over to the window, looking down at the people below. A tear fell from her eye when a mother pushing a baby carriage strolled by. "OK Todd, I guess it couldn't hurt just to check it out." Two days later: Jake returned to the lawyer's office as requested, "So what you got for me, Allen?" The lawyer sat behind his desk. No sweat appeared on his chubby face today. "There is a woman who might be willing to help you out with your situation. A twenty-four-year-old woman, Dana Jones." Jake grunted. "She must be pretty desperate if she'll marry just for money. So how ugly is this woman?" "I understand she's quite lovely. But there is a small catch." Jake stood up and began pacing, his nostrils flaring. "I knew it. She wants more money, how much?" "No. Miss Jones is not after more money." Jake turned to the lawyer. "Well if it's not more money, then what?" he asked, staring at the man hunched behind the desk. "Miss Jones wants a baby out of the deal." "Have you lost your mind, Allen? I told you I don't want kids, find someone else." "Hear me out. The woman does not want a husband or a father for the baby. She doesn't want to have the baby's daddy in the picture. Get the girl pregnant the first time then you'll never have to see her again." Jake thought about it for a moment, "OK. Set up a meeting and I'll check her out. But what kind of a woman wants a stranger to impregnate her? she must be one cold-hearted bitch not to want a child to have its father." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOYuvmznAxo Like and share _whatsapp +2349069495623 to join the story group_ *TO BE CONTINUED* |

EPISODE 04 Two days later a meeting was arranged between Dana and Jake, to be held at the lawyer's office of Allen Clay. Dana was ten minutes late and Jake was becoming impatient, tapping his fingers on the arm of his chair. Then Allen's secretary announced her arrival. "Send Miss Jones in," Allen instructed. Jake sat back and watched as a slender blond walked in. She was indeed a looker, with a hot little body, he thought to himself. Jake was usually drawn to taller women, but there was something about this woman that grabbed his attention. Her eyes were blue, the color of the deep blue sea, she had delicate features. Or maybe it was her full luscious lips or the shape of her neck, a neck he could see himself kissing. Allen went over to Dana and shook her hand. "Miss Jones. So glad you could make it. I'm Allen Clay and this is Jake Rayburn." When Jake stood before Dana her heart did a flip. He was much taller than her and she had to look up, his hair was raven black, eyes a dark shade of blue, skin a creamy bronze, he was gorgeous. The mere presence of Jake overpowered her, but as soon as he opened his mouth she instantly disliked him. He spoke with an air of arrogance as if he were better than everyone else. "You're ten minutes late Miss Jones. That's a quality I find most distasteful in people. I hope this isn't going to be a habit with you," Jake said as he stared down at her. Dana was fuming, she had just met the man and already she couldn't stand him. Giving Jake a look of contempt she snapped back. "Excuse me Mr. Rayburn, but being ten minutes late is not a big deal." Jake hissed through clenched teeth." Some of us are too busy and don't have time to waste, don't be late again." he replied. Allen cleared his throat to get both of their attention. "Jake, Dana, please take a seat and get to know one another." When Dana sat she crossed her legs. Jake rubbed his chin as he let his eyes move up, taking in the shape and contour. Her dress, being short he was able to see a great deal of thigh. Jake was the first to start, taking charge which was his way. "Where do you work Miss Jones?" "I work at a flower shop; it's called Millie's flowers." "Do you own it?" "No. It belongs to friends of mine, Millie, and Todd." Dana noticed that Jake rolled his eyes. "What's the matter? Is that not good enough for you?" "Well it could prove to be embarrassing to tell people my wife is only a flower shop girl," he said sarcastically. "Who says I've agreed to be your wife?" she snapped. Jake ignored Dana's remark and asked her another question. "You're very pretty. Why don't you go to a bar and pick someone up, sleep with him and get pregnant that way? What's wrong with you?" He looked her over, a smirk on his face. "I'm sure you're not hard to get into bed. Or does the thought of getting laid for 500,000 dollars turn you on?" Dana jumped out of her seat, her adrenaline pumping, cheeks flushed. "You son of a bitch. How dare you talk to me this way, like I'm some kind of tramp." Jake got up and loosened his tie, staring down at Dana as he towered over her. "What would you call someone who would marry just for money and want him to give you a baby? What kind of twisted gold digger are you?" "You bastard," she replied and raising her hand she slapped Jake hard across his face. Turning she fled the room. Allen was standing back watching the event take place, shaking his head. "That did not go well. I guess I'll keep looking." Jake rubbed his cheek where Dana had slapped him, the mark still visible. "No need Allen, she's perfect. That's the woman I'm going to marry," he says, with a grin. "But Jake that woman clearly hates you." "Yes. I know. Now all I have to do is get Miss Jones to keep on hating me." On the other side of town: Dana went storming into the flower shop, slamming the door behind her. Heading to the back room and finding Millie sitting at her computer went and sat next to her. Crossing her arms she started cursing the man to whom she had just slapped, her hand still hurting. Millie looked up from the computer and raised an eyebrow. "I take it things didn't go very well." "Oh, Millie. Jake Rayburn is the most obnoxious man I have ever met. There is no way I would marry a jerk like that, not even for one year, much less sleep with him." Millie decided to look the man up on her computer. She gasped when she saw his picture and pointed to the screen. "My God Dana is this him?" Dana looked over at the screen and nodded. "Yes, that's the jerk." Millie licked her lips. "Sweet mother he's gorgeous. If I weren't married I'd totally do him. Just think how beautiful your child would be if he were the father." Millie eyed the screen, staring at Jake's picture. "It says here he is one of the youngest criminal lawyers in New York City. And dates only the most glamorous and wealthy women in New York and abroad. Hobbies are boating, shooting, mountain climbing, among other things." Dana scoffed. "I don't care. I can't stand the man, he's insufferable. I could never get over the fact that he's a jerk, much less sleep with him.' Millie gave Dana a wicked little smile. "You don't have to like the man to sleep with him. And wouldn't it be better that you can't stand him? It would make it so much easier to walk away when the year is up." "Maybe you're right. I wouldn't have to spend any time with him. And with the money, I'll be getting I won't have to sleep with the man. I will be able to afford the fertility treatments. But I don't think he'll be calling me, not after I slapped him." Millie's eyes lit up. "You did? Why would you do that?" "He was being rude, said some hurtful things. I'm telling you, he deserved it." _whatsapp +2349069495623 to join the story group_ *TO BE CONTINUED* |

EPISODE ,05 To Dana's complete surprise Allen Clay had gotten in touch with her and asked if she would agree to meet with Jake one more time. She had serious doubts about meeting the man, the last time he had more or less called her a LovePeddler. But she was curious as to what he had to say, so she agreed. It was arranged that they would meet at a nearby restaurant in the heart of the city. She spotted him the moment she walked in, he sat there, looking at the Rolex watch he wore with a scowl on his tanned face. She snickered to herself before reaching the table, she deliberately kept him waiting twenty minutes. As soon as she got to the table he stood and waited for her to be seated, then sitting he once again looked at his watch and frowned. His expression told her he was not pleased, though he never mentioned it. "Dana, I'm glad you agreed to meet me. I took the liberty of ordering you a glass of white wine." Saying as he took his seat. "I would have preferred red." She answered, shrugging her shoulders. "What is it you want Mr. Rayburn?" Jake, raising his eyebrow had a feeling she was toying with him. Trying to push his buttons, but he refused to rise to the bait. "Please, call me Jake. Look, I need a wife. I want her to be you, for one year that is." She blinked, trying to concentrate on what he was saying. But it was hard, he kept smiling at her, showing off his dimples. His aftershave drifted towards her, a scent she found to be intoxicating. And his smile, she couldn't take her eyes off it. Then she was drawn from her thoughts when she heard him call her name. "Dana, is anything wrong?" he asked. Lifting the glass of wine to her lips she took a sip before speaking. "Why me? I'm sure you could have any woman you want. One I'm sure would love to be your wife, even if it is only for a year." He sat back and studied the woman before him. Her eyes twinkled with a mysterious glint as if she knew something he didn't. "That's true. There are many women who would jump at the chance to be my wife. The problem is they would want to stay my wife. And believe me, I don't want one." "Why would I agree to marry you after the way you talked to me the other day." She said, giving him a look of contempt. "Because I can give you what you want, a baby. Just know I don't want anything to do with it, or you afterward. You'll sign an agreement, stating that I don't have to be responsible for it once it's born and that you won't come back in the future wanting anything from me." "I assure you I won't. All I want is a child and to be left alone." Her dislike for Jake grew the more he talked. "That's fine with me. So tell me, how is this baby making going to play out? Will you be warming my bed every night till you become pregnant?" He made a point of licking his lips, letting her know what he was thinking. Dana's face turned a light shade of red, the thought of her in bed with him was making her sweat. She had a feeling that he knew how to please a woman, in bed, that is. It had been so long since a man had touched her, kissed her. And this man had her forgetting her vow to stay clear of the opposite sex, she wished he wasn't so handsome. "That won't be necessary after all," she replied. "Jake's eyebrow lifted, he was slightly confused, he thought her reason for marrying him was to get pregnant. "I don't understand, I thought you wanted a baby." "I do. But with the money you'll be giving me I'll be able to afford fertility treatments. All I have to do is wait another year." Dana smiled when she saw the look on his face and knew he wasn't expecting the answer she gave him. "That's too bad, I wouldn't mind doing you as often as I could. I bet you're a real tiger in bed and know how to make a man come." He scanned her face, enjoying the look of shock she displayed. "You're a pig," she cursed him. He chuckled out loud, she had a temper and a foul mouth to boost. "So I take it you will marry me then?" "Yes," she replied. The restaurant was starting to fill up, the music is drowned out by the chatter of the people, waiters busy hustling from table to table. The smell of food making her stomach growl, she hadn't eaten yet and was getting hungry. He asked if she would like to order dinner, which she declined, not wanting to spend any more time with him than necessary. "Ok then, I'll have the papers drawn up for us to sign. I guess the next step is to get married, the sooner the better. How do you want to do this? Do you want some kind of wedding" Or shall we go to the courthouse?" He asked her. Rolling her eyes she scoffed at the idea of a wedding, what a joke she thought. "No I don't want a wedding, that's ridiculous. The courthouse is fine, just let me know when and where and I'll meet you there." Looking at Dana he noticed how her bottom lip was trembling, how her fingers played with the napkin on the table. "The year will fly by quickly. We won't be living together and never have to see one another after we marry." The thought of getting married weighed heavily on her heart. Once she had dreamed of getting married, having a family. But those dreams had been squashed years ago, she would never allow anyone to ever hurt her again. When she remained quiet Jake asked her once again if she would like to have dinner. "No. I really must be going, it's getting late." She replied. He rose, laying some money on the table he pulled her chair out. "How are you getting home?" He asked. "The same way I got here, the bus." She said coldly. "I'll give you a ride home." He said as he took a hold of her arm. Pulling her arm out of his grip she snapped at him. "I don't need a ride from you. I got here on my own, I can get home without your help." He took one look at her short dress and shook his head, and grabbing her arms headed out the door. "I'm driving you, there's no way I'm letting you get on a bus at this time of night, not dressed like that." Jake opened the door to his silver BMW and she climbed in, the seats were so posh and soft, it had that new car smell. In it, he had all the toys that men seem to relish, cd player, surround system. Heated seats and a camera that displayed the rear, in case anything was behind them, a top of the line GP. Neither spoke till they reached her place. "You live here? it doesn't look like a very safe neighborhood." Jake exclaimed. "Are you afraid someone might hurt your precious car?" She said sarcastically. Not answering he went around to her side and opened the door. Stepping out she informed him he did not have to walk her to the door. "I will see you safely inside first." He told her. Once she unlocked the door he said goodnight, turned and walked back to his car. _whatsapp +2349069495623 to join the story group_ *TO BE CONTINUED* |
