The people of Onunwakpu Igbeagu in Izzi local Government, Ebonyi state is calling on well meaning Nigerians to come to their aid to be able to access potable drinking water.



Some of the locals who took to social media to seek Government attention the plight of the people of Onunwakpu Igbeagu said the community is really suffering from lack of basic amenities, The women in the community also lament challenges they face in during pregnancy, Madam Ufiogu ANYA said many women have lost their child or even die during labor time because there is no near by hospital to rush them to due to the bad road. She explained that lack of Water has been their major problem. To the extent of putting alom inside dirty water in order to make use of it.

Another Local Iheanyi Mgbuka said to make matter worse no good drinking water, no motorable road, no adequate school, no hospital.

He said They are used to having serious water problems around this time of year. they suffer from different kind of disease like cholera, airborne disease due to lack of social amenities, and plead that Government at all level should help them to end this suffering. A CORPER Chukwuemeka Murphy who served in NDUBIA Izzi wrote on his social media handle that zone dey suffer!

That Onunwakpu na Another area! Corpers serving in that place usually come with gallons to fetch water in corpers lodge.

The same ebonyi state that has The longest glass tunnel in Africa, the highest number of flyovers, the highest water fountain and the highest state shopping mall. This is bad and unacceptable, the People Representing this constituency In the National Assembly, LGA Even ward counselors can do something other than sharing allocation money while their people wallow in abject poverty


Water scarcity is a major matter of concern in Ebonyi state. Before hailing the governor in the cities, hear the voices in the grassroots. The cities must not be developed at the expense of rural areas.
