Congratulations are in order for American reality TV star Kim Kardashian as she officially joins the World’s Billionaires list for the first time.
According to Forbes, Kim is now worth N410bn ($1bn), up from her former net worth estimate of N319bn ($780m).
It was reported that the 40-year-old woman made the billionaire list because of two of her last business ventures, KKW Beauty and Skims, as well as cash from reality television and endorsement deals, and a number of smaller investments.
Kim founded KKW Beauty in 2017 and sold 20% of the business in 2020 for a whooping sum of N82bn ($200 million), a deal that reportedly valued the company at N410bn ($1bn).
It was noted that her remaining 72% stake in the company is worth around N205bn ($500m).
In 2019, Kim launched Skims, a shape, and loungewear for women. The mother of four is said to own a major stake in the company which Forbes values at N205bn ($500m).
Besides her growing businesses, Forbes reported that Kim also has earned at least $10 million pretax from her reality show since 2012.
Forbes, however, noted:
"But it’s the companies that she has launched herself, and grown with the typical Kardashian flare for self-promotion, that land her on the World’s Billionaires list."

Well, it'sobvious you're kidding. But I wonder why most men (like the guy above) feel better when they there's a man they can hold responsible for a lady's success. It's almost as if it makes them feel good about themselves. Even in the face of such glaring commitment, most men would still prefer to undermine her efforts while attributing her success to Kanye. If she had gotten a divorce before becoming a billionaire, it would have been worse. One would then wonder whose money made her a multi millionaire long before she got married to Kanye. Meanwhile, Kanye became a billionaire and people just congratulated him without looking for anyone to attribute that to. Now, it's Kim's turn and she's called a gold digger. Let's be taking it easy with this bias.
