Neutralobserver:Well abortion on demand carried out by unqualified people is killing our women. People will always abort. It's time they legalized it and make it safe. Their body, their choice. 1 Like |

CSTRR: All the countries that have legalised abortion do have enough healthcare staff and facilties for the process. Legalising it in Nigeria, without dealing with the lack of sufficent trained staff and facilties could lead to disaster. |

Neutralobserver:There is nothing complex about an abortion. It's not a complex procedure. We have the professionals to do it. They just don't want to lose their medical licences and go to prison. |

Re: Man Arrested For Procuring Abortion For His Girlfriend In Lagos (Picture) by Nobody: 8:12am On Apr 12, 2021 |
CSTRR: Nope, we don't have enough professionals to do it. We don't have enough O/G specialists, and we don't have enough hospitals, especially the tertiary hospitals to sort out unanticipated emergency issues. Rural areas also have issues with access to care. If someone has an aboriton in a rural area, and there is a complicaiton, rushing her to hospital would take a long time...with the poor emergegency services that we have. |

Neutralobserver:Where do you think the ones in the "village " get their abortions done for the time being? Why have you not thought of what regulation will bring instead of sticking to negativity?. Do you think first world countries have abortion clinics littered everywhere to require a battalion of staff that makes you think Nigeria doesn't have the capacity to supply such human resources? Have you even given it a thought about the upside of "regulation"?. The cases of evacuations and abortions done in designated hospitals today for life threatening pregnancies ,are the doctors and staff spirits?. Abortion didn't start today, from using hangers in the 70s and 80s ,to pills to illegal evacuation, shouldn't we have the conversation of safe abortion and come to terms that women will have need to have abortions and making it illegal will not stop women from getting it. But then again ,a hypocritical country like Nigeria ,so religious ,yet so dark will always want to appear saints and point fingers. 1 Like |

Re: Man Arrested For Procuring Abortion For His Girlfriend In Lagos (Picture) by CSTRR: 8:26am On Apr 12, 2021 |
Neutralobserver:We don't have enough health professionals in all sectors, it doesn't mean we don't have people to do it. So what is the alternative? Allowing it to remain illegal so that more girls will keep dying? Do you Know how many lives would be saved by legalising it? All those complications you listed are also happening now. Infact, it is worst. With legalisation, many of the deaths would be avoided. You cannot stop abortion. The best we can do is to legalise it so that people can have access to proper care if they can get it. |

MrJames007:A very stupid question. Did they impregnate themselves? If it was men that get pregnant, would this still be your argument? If your sister get pregnant out of wedlock and wants an abortion, won't you be grateful that your family has access to proper doctors that can help her? Do you know how many females are dying every year to improperly carried out abortions? |

franchasng:I keep hearing this so I had to research it. Hepatitis B is not more dangerous than HIV. What is more dangerous than something that attacks your immune system? Many people are living healthy with hepatitis without taking drugs. Infact, it's not everybody that will need drugs. Can you say the same for HIV? And hepatitis B is transmitted in many more efficient ways than sex Most people that have it didn't even get it through sex. 1 Like |

He said she told him she terminated the abortion and he didnt say he gave her the drugs to terminate the pregancy..... Nairalanders with quick to pass judgment. what if he wanted the pregnancy and the lady on her own decided she don't want it and went to terminate it without the man knowledge so you want to say the man is guilty again? May God protect us ooooo even from the man expression it shows like he didn't know she will terminate the pregnancy but who am I to judge because the only person that can tell us what really happend is the dead girlfriend |
