A three-month-old child is dead after his dad used him as a shield during a shootout with police in Mississippi.

According to Toofab, He held the child in one hand, a weapon in the other.

La’Mello Parker passed on close by his father, Eric Derell Smith, who had kidnapped him after running away from the location of another familial killing.

Police in Louisiana reacted to a hang up emergency call during a domestic dispute on Monday. Showing up at the home close to Baker, they discovered the body of 32-year-old Christin Parker and her 26-year-old nephew Brandon Parker, both shot dead.

Christin’s young little girl told the officials she had escaped from the house after hearing gunshots and raced to a neighbor’s home for help.

1. He kidnapped the child just after killing two people.
2. HE used the child as a shield during a SHOOTOUT....i mean why not drop him somewhere safe before engaging?
3. This is a shootout and will definitely not be in close range so there is a high possibility the cops weren't aware of the child.

they only kill the child nothing more they can't be justified, an average us police would rather trail their assailant when hostage is involved, not even an infant in this case. he wasn't on a spree rather he engaged them so they responded without considering the infant hostage.
