Other things are important before you go behind the wheels such as the theoretical aspect of driving. It is more than learning how to accelerate and use the brakes. Different activities take place outside of the car and it affects the performance of the car. As a driver, there are signs and information about the car you need to know. You should also know about its components and how it operates.
Theory and practical classes for driving are two halves that complement each other. You say to yourself, “I already know how to move a car, I can drive what else do I need to know” of course, you need to know the theoretical aspect of driving.

What do you know about Driver’s Orientation?
We see people arguing on the road because someone made a mistake and they are trying to determine who. Most of the time, the guilty person doesn’t always admit it because of a lack of proper driver orientation. Most drivers know nothing about the right driving techniques and these are some of the things that lead to avoidable accidents

You probably don’t know basic vehicle mechanisms
Are you really a driver if you don’t know the simple parts and components of what you are driving? Most drivers cannot even perform a simple vehicle parade or differentiate between the chassis and steering systems. You must know your vehicle because you cannot control what you don’t know.

You don’t know road signs and pavement markings
Yes, you can drive but do you know the different signs on the highway? Can you interpret the pavement markings on the road? A significant percentage of accidents are caused by the driver’s inability to understand and interpret road signs and traffic signs. Road signs have different functions that range from a warning, information to regulation. They are an integral part of the road and ignoring these signs and marking always have serious consequences. You are not really a driver if you don’t know the road signs and markings.

You don’t know defensive Driving
Defensive driving is driving to utilize safe driving skills to identify, predict, and avoid potential hazards while driving. A defensive driver uses acquired driving skills to reduce driving risks in advance through maneuvering based on informed decision-making. This is one skill most drivers lack. It causes road accidents that happen in unusual weather conditions, at night, or on bad roads mostly. You’ve learned how to move a car, you should learn how to move it without risking your life and others around you?

Driving should be organized and learned professionally. Most Nigerian drivers learn the practical aspect of driving through friends and relatives but completely ignoring the theoretical aspect of driving. While acknowledging the importance of practical training, the benefit of the theoretical is all too encompassing. Through the classroom training, we learn about road signs and other traffic rules and regulations, defensive driving techniques. The theory aspect is as important as the practical aspect too.
