Please Gurus in the house..Can anyone please advice which car i should go for between a 2009 honda accord or the 2010 volkswagen passat CC..thank you very much.

Go for honda, I heard their bull point problem was corrected from 08 upwards. passat is a solid ride though but rumors about their electrical and transmission problem although i have seen anyone experiencing it , just rumors from mechanics. 4 Likes |

If you are good at preventive maintenance and sticking religiously to it according to user manual, go for Passat else buy Honda. Honda will take more abuse than the Passat too. Passat require specialized mechanics than Honda, if you take your Passat to road side mechanics it might spell doom. Ride quality of Passat is better. Maintenance of Passat could be more expensive in case of breakdown. 3 Likes |

As sweet as the Passat is,Nigerian kazeems will not allow someone to recommend it,just to be on a safer side,Carry Honda jeje,this model is not 'that prone to leg issues'(rarely occurs),will take more abuse than Passat and can tolerate certain level of kazeem way more than the Passat,most of us including me settle for Honda and Toyota,just because of the country we found ourselves in,honestly the day I leave Nigeria to a better country that day I will drive the ride of my dream..lol 7 Likes |

stanley000:They are not rumours. They are true. However, if you manage to get a problem free Passat, it will most definitely be more pleasurable to drive than the accord. If you have deep pockets, go for the Passat, if you can't fork out 500k and up at a time to solve complex electromechanical problems that may spring up in the Passat, go for the accord. 6 Likes 1 Share |

stanley000: wrong, the double wish bone setup was changed in the 2013 accord upwards. However, the 08 accord to 012 has a bigger ball joint than previous models making them more reliable to an extent, fake parts and poor maintenance are majorly to blame for this problem. There is no car that cannot have a ball joint failure I have seen the Corolla 08, venza, and Acura TL 010 have this pull out.. 5 Likes |

LUXURY RIDE: Volkswagen Passat BASIC RIDE: Honda Accord. MY CHOICE: SITTING ON THE FENCE I personally love the quality and premium feel of the passat( German machine and brother of Audi) but I'm scared because of not too qualified mechanics that would spoil things up, but i rather pick the accord because it's more common in this part of the world with availability of mechanics that can work on it.
