Every day I have come to realize that the real currency of living is time. This is a currency given to all men in equal measure. We can make of it what we may, but every idle time will be accounted for in the end

The real currency of living is time, Like this part..
Time seems to be one of the most valuable article of exchange that the "Nigeria system" has so ripped us off, cutting short our growth and understanding in it, no wonder time management courses cost much. Good one OP

On my bed in the B&B, despite being worth less than 60k in Naira if I convert my £100 pounds at the time, I felt a sense of relief, I felt the weight of a "shit hole country" leave me, I felt free to dream again. I thought of my mum, my dad, my siblings, and my friend grinding through the heat of the motherland, sinned against daily by "leaders" that hardly care, and I would only say my prayers in tears for them. This would be a prayer I pray almost daily for
my family, friend, and for others.

I drop my pen with this prayer:

"That their pain and tears be temporary
That the sun pierces through their present darkness
That they see the good of the land
And that they rise beyond their present difficulties,
that they find help when all hope seems lost, and the Lord most high should be their father, king, help and direction"

The bright side of life:

I love stories but I can hardly put them in a sequential order. The thoughts come in randomly, and I process them as they do.

I recommend you take this as a dairy here on "nairaland", that way you don't have to worry about it being in a "sequential order"....
Wonderful piece the part you mentioned your family almost mase e teary eyed cos this is what everyone outside ought to worry about the government is scamming us big time, make the money and ship your family out.

It's was my first time in London. I had sold off everything I owned including my treasured 55" Sony bravia that took me 5years to purchase, Had it been in my ability maybe I would have

Nice piece of work bro. I can relate to most of your experience. When a man has 'tasted poverty, and finally start seeing his direction', he always does everything possible not to go back to the 'area' he just left.

Sometimes, when people see another person working hard to better his situation and mocks him, they would never no the conditions of things because they are privileged. Most privileged people always assume that others are lazy.

Keep on pushing forward. May God be your strength.
