Dear Pastor,
Those who say the loudest amen don’t get the fastest answer. God does not look at volume of prayer. He looks at volume of faith. Stop telling your congregation their amen is not loud enough for God. Raise their faith, not their voice! The fastest prayer ever answered in Scripture was by the woman with the issue of blood. She did not even speak. She did not even say amen. “she said WITHIN HERSELF, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole”-Matthew 9:21. God is looking for loud faith, not loud amen!

It is indeed a sin against God to pray out loud and also to pray where you can be seen doing so.

Well, if you are decided to follow the examples of the disciples as written of in the book of acts, that is fine for you, but doesn't change the Truth of God which is that praying out loud and even praying where you are seen by others doing so...is a sin against God.

How can you say amen when someone prays in a prayer of agreement withouy hearinng his voice ?

There are different kimds of Prayers
There is prayer of Petition
There is prayer of Agreement
There is prayer of Supplication
There is prayer of Intercessions
There is prayer of Faith
There is prayer of IMPRECATION
There is prayer of Worship

all these are different from personal devotion. when jesus said to pray in your closeth . its about personal devotion. its between you and God.

jesus departed alone to the mountain to do that. but when it comes to other kinds of prayers it is done openly especially Prayer of agreement . when Jesus carried 3 disciples to pray. it wasnt a quiet prayer. He prayed liud to the point of sweating

remember when your theology is in comflict with the bible dobt condemn the verses . rather check your theology.

Before another argument starts, can we just agree that both of you are right?

The problem always starts when the bible says different things in different situations.

As Kobojunkie rightly quoted,praying out loud even though it's not a sin, Jesus taught that it was unacceptable. Jesus himself always said his prayers in a secluded place. He only gave thanks and blessed God publicly.

And as you rightly pointed,there were occasions where as a congregation the early disciples prayed with a loud voice too.

What then?
In personal prayers,it shouldn't be made public as God seems to see it as a show-off and an act of self-righteousness.
For corporate prayers apparently that cannot be silent.

What we get from this is that Jesus was addressing the intent of the person praying. It should not be an act of for Self-righteousness.

Interestingly during the time of Jesus, we do not have any record of a loud corporate prayer. Even at Gethsenane, Jesus never told he disciples to pray out loud, he simply urged them to pray. It was when the fell asleep during prayer that was an issue.

Now to OP.
You're very right,Jesus, neither Jesus nor the apostles mentioned that the person "with the loudest Amen" would get an answered prayer.
Pastors who sought to engage their congregation either with the intention of getting a feedback or self-aggrandization made that up.

So you're very right about that. No where in the bible did Jesus or the apostles seek the person with the loudest Anen. All they sought was the person with Faith. Cos it was not about them,but about your Faith in God and his vessel.
