We are seeking a motivated and savvy copy editor for our online content editing needs in a fast-paced work environment. You will work with a team of writers and designers to curate compelling and accurate content for our organization. Your primary duties will include following a content strategy, proofreading and editing, and collaborating with co-workers to deliver quality projects on time.

Responsibilities
• Proofread text and edit text at various stages of the Editorial writing process
• Understand and consistently reflect the brand voice of the company in writing style
• Fine-tune writing style of Analysts, Freelancers and columnists for articles to be published
• Ensure that the articles are easy to read and succinct in delivery
• Ensure they are no typographical and grammatical errors on all publications online.
• Keep abreast of trends in content and style reflected on Society, Politics, Business and Financial News Reporting
• Collaborate with the story’s assigned text editor on implementing style and other changes for clarity or readability.
• Consult with the article’s researcher and other story team members, including the writer, design editor, graphics editors, as needed.
• Review printer-generated article proof for final sign-off.
• Monitor internal discussion board for style questions.
• Monitor an article’s production schedule to help ensure compliance with deadlines.

Qualifications required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, English, Social Sciences, Journalism or any relevant subject or equivalent experience with at least 3 years of relevant magazine or newspaper copyediting experience, ideally including at least one year working in an online publishing environment.
• Proficiency with applying the principles of style guides to different types of writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Thorough knowledge of media writing and communication.
• Ability to remain detailed-oriented and focused.
• Strong computer processing skills, especially Wordpress, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Sharepoint, Planner and related work tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others across all units of the company.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain high-quality work amid competing deadlines, and to take initiative and solve problems.
• Broad knowledge of subjects covered in the publication online and in print, Politics, Economy, Society and Business and Finance.
