Different things can cause it to stop working, ordinary fuse cut can cause it or if the compressor coil is faulty that the plate is not getting magnetised by the coil..you can check this yourself..let someone on the ac while you watch the compressor. If it makes the click sound and the plate is magnetised then it means the compressor is fine and there may have been leakages.
Ultimately,i hope the gas they used is good, a bad gas can cause compressor to stop working abruptly because it burns the whole system.

Good morning friends, please avoid buying cheap can gas , this will spoil and burn the whole system and you might end up changing every component at huge cost. Buy quality gas. Quality don't come cheap.
Refilling your gas at the rate of 1k,2k may sound nice but eventually it will cost you

Good morning I use ice cool or Eva cool but there are several other in small cans, price ranges from 6k to 10k but then the low quality could be 600naira to 1k

Good afternoon, my ac stops blowing after driving for about 15 minutes at speeds greater than 80 km/h. Any speed less than that, the AC blows all through.
As in, the air blowing from the vents will start reducing till there's no more air coming out if I'm driving fast, but if I drive slow, it works well. I've refilled my gas thinking it was the problem, but it's still misbehaving.

Your ac system is freezing and blocking the air passage through the evaporator while you are on top speed, so when the speed reduces,it defreeze thus air starts flowing through the evaporator again... whats your location sir

I'm in Abuja, but what can be done, is there still hope? I don't want technicians here to be doing trial and error.
Thanks

Just tell them to put thermostat for you..it should stop freezing if its set correctly, the thermostat will cut when it's about to freeze and it will start up again automatically without you noticing the difference in temperature

My compressor coil keeps burning. I have changed it 3 times and each time, the coil will spoil just after few minutes of switching on the AC.

Bad advice. Learn to address issue from the root instead of abusing the stock design .
By adding a thermostat that is not part of original design , u will be creating additional problems to the existing one.

You will need to choose your word carefully to avoid further confusion , the bolded phrase above, do u mean to refer to the intensity of "cold air "or the "blower air" cos they are different entity

Overheating of coil , look for reasonable technician to troubleshoot for intermittent contact

The blower boss. The air blowing from the vents starts reducing till there's little or no air blowing again. After I switch the AC off for a while and put it on back again it works well. And the cycle continues

The root cause is air flow or restrictions due to moisture in the txv.
A good technician will start the diagnostic process by using a manifold Guage to analyze the problem before launching for the repair .

This clearly shows that the evaporator is blocked with ice thereby not letting air through the fins. The thermostat is not working properly, that's why this happens.

there are different good brands like snow, ice , the ones i mentioned are just the ones affordable for customers that i use, its big can that can gas multiple cars, individuals cant buy it...but generally i trust american brands..you can go on amazon to get small cans that will fill your car system at a go..and even original ones dey too in nigeria esp. lagos, but they dont come cheap. the golden rule is avoid cheap china gas..simple

You are right about the evaporator being frozen but noting like thermostat in that model design, what u have there is evaporator temperature sensor .So the root cause is not thermostat but something else that is restricting air flow to the evaporator .

Sorry for derailing your thread , but let be opened for learning cos introducing thermostat as suggested that is not part of the original design will mandate disconnetcting the ac system from the network creating other problem elsewhere that is why it good to address root cause .
I will throw more light on this same issue on my ac thread later on .

We are not disconnecting anything from the system...its simply replacing the one that stopped working... simple

Seems u don't get it .That model of vehicle is not designed to use that mechanical thermostat to cut the ac ( that is design of modern vehicle ac except some early model Ford that still uses thermostat ) ,the ac system is basically computer controlled i e by the ecu . To introduce thermostat for control of ac , u will need to take the control from the ecu and run the ac independent of the whole vehicle network which will introduc bigger issue .
Also ,The tripping off of the ac that the owner is experiencing is being done by the ecu so as to protect the compressor and the solution to the problem should be towards finding out why and what the ecu is seeing that it doesn't like and not about introducing external parts to solve problem that has not been deciphered.
Moral of this epistle:
1. Know thy opponent :it is good to have the overall view of what u dealing with before u launch the attack
2. Don't treat the symptoms ,go for the root cause .end of story

you could have created your own thread and discuss it on there...or better still dm me ,instead of showing off say u Sabi..talmbout ecu..wtf....have you even ever loosed dashboard before..talk more of loosing the evaporator compartment...pls this isy business page, don't come here to undermine my skill..that's how I do my thing and no one has reported any issue
