A woman’s choice in handbags tells the world a lot about her personality. Better quality visually translates to better status and a confident presence. Therefore, when purchasing a handbag the right color, texture and design is essential.

TYPES OF HANDBAGS

TOTE AND SHOULDER BAGS – if you are you among those women who want to look stylish, but also need an extra-large bag that carries your whole world within it. If you are one of them, tote and shoulder bags must be your pick.

CLUTCHES/WALLETS – Some women prefer to travel light. Clutches and wallets are usually their go-to choice.

SLING BAGS – Sling bags offer a light and carefree look that oozes confidence. For women that love to carry lightweight bags with an uber-chic look, this is your go-to-choice.

HAND-HELD BAGS – Be it a formal or personal occasion; the handheld bags always shine with their cool and calm colors and simple designs. It’s definitely a hit style hack for all times when you pair it with a blue denims and a white shirt.

CARING FOR YOUR HANDBAGS

Handbags are worthy investments. When you’ve invested a lot of money in a handbag, making sure it’s a forever item is a must. But taking care of some handbags e.g. those made from leather can be tricky.

Keeping a bag looking great is about regular maintenance rather than a quick fix Throwing makeup brushes, a smashed powder, lipstick that loses its lid or an open pen into your bag causes the bag to become heavily stained on the interior.

GUILDLINES TO CLEANING YOUR HANDBAG

1. Never use baby wipes, vinegar or any other ‘home remedy’ for cleaning or stain removal. Many of these products have chemicals and substances in them that can cause damage to the color, dry the leather out, create a buildup of grease in the leathery surface.

2. If you don’t have time to clean the full bag focus on the main areas such as the handles, giving these a quick wipe down will protect and keep them looking fresh for longer period of time.

ODOUR REMOVAL

1. Check the materials used on your lining and exterior and ensure you have the right products for all materials used on your item.
2. Get into all pockets to clear out that bacteria that will be causing the smell.
3. Focus on the handles and anywhere oils may have been absorbed as these can be a cause of odors.

LIQUID STAIN REMOVAL

Since bags are used outside and inside, they are prone to coming into contact with common liquids such as rain water, hair dyes beverages, and perfume leaks.

1. Blot the stained area as soon as possible with a clean, dry cloth or tissue – you want to absorb as much of the liquid as possible.
2. Once excess liquid is removed, you should then blot the stained area with a damp cloth or tissue using warm water only.
