Michael Effiong has expressed is concern on the wasteful lifestyle of some African leaders. This time the media personality came for the son of the president of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Mangue.
He said this via his Facebook page;

If you ask me what this man here is thinking about I will say, he is possibly thinking of buying the ashes of a cigarette for a million dollar, then blow the ashes away. Just like that.

This is Teodoro Obiang Mangue aka Mr Lavish, he is the first vice president of Equatorial Guinea. He has spent billions of naira in luxury and some of his properties has been seized by different governments in the world. From luxurious cars, watches, yacht etc, he is ready to spend in $ million just to acquire them. He uses his country's commonwealth to balance his luxurious lifestyle. He even spent million of dollars to buy Michael Jackson's memorabilia, including the singer's hand glove.��

His father, Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo is the president of Equatorial Guinea and he has been the president of the country for over 40 years.

Like Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea is an oil rich country, being the third-largest oil producer in Sub-Saharan Africa. Another characteristic it shares with Nigeria is that the oil money isn't going round, but it's been held by a few rich-people.

Some sources believe that when Teodoro Mbasogo retires or dies, the power shift is likely to go to his son, Mr Lavish. Imagine Mr Lavish in power. Africa has a big leadership problem and if we don't fix it, it will definitely kill all of us.
