Ever since BB naija began we've heard calls both from Christian/Islamic leaders to ban the show mind you Nigeria government has banned lots of music which doesn't even come close to the smutty content of BB naija... Thiis begs the question why haven't they banned it?

First let us begin with history the words 'Big Brother' originated in the famous novel '1984' in this novel the main character Winston lives in an authoritarian regime ruled by a figure called Big Brother, the Government has cameras everywhere even in people homes, there is no freedom of speech there is no freedom of expression, your facial expression must always be what the government wishes i.e getting angry at criminals being grateful to the government...there is no love, people marry to please the government not out of true love, your true love should be Big Brother...
Now the main character Winston believes that the Authoritarian government is evil but he feels safe knowing that the government can never truly know his mind, he eventually meets some people who hates the government as much as him and together they plot to bring down the regime... Only for Winston to realize in horror that the government can actually read his mind and all the while he has been carefully monitored, those co conspirators were actually government spies sent to lure him into a trap, he was eventually tortured and in the last pages he finally submits, he no longer hates the government any more...

He now truly loves Big Brother

Now when you observe BB naija you'll see fake love being promoted, the characters make and break relationships based on how it would bring them victory, there is also a complete lack of reality you will rarely see BB naija members openly condemn the Nigerian government or discuss terrorism and secession issues in Nigeria, you would see Igbos, Yorubas and Hausas living and f**king together in peace without any tribal sentiments coming up...
in short they indirectly brainwash us the viewers how to think, what to discuss about and more importantly what to like

Why can't the government ban BB naija? Because it promotes their national, political and economic world view...

We must learn to love Big Brother Naija

Not to mention the revenue being made by government stakeholders and the distraction it provides from Naijas woes and ongoing corruption.
