It is very Biblical. But not an insurance policy to continue to live in sin...

I attended a church where this teaching happen to be basic of their teachings. I asked them one day if being saved then mean one can go then and be commiting sin. The pastor then clarified things, a saved person will have no joy in commiting sin. If you are claiming salvation and still derived pleasure in commiting sin, you can check yourself again, you are probably not saved in the first place. Being saved makes you to run away from sin not the other way round.

The answer is no...Read Mathew 24:13...it says its he that endures to the end that will be saved..so its a lifelong exercise....we can also read jude vs 5...and see how God dealt with some if the isrealites he initially saved in Egypt...Paul also wrote in Philipians 2:12..keep working out your own salvation....he used a continuous tense..KEEP WORKING OUT...Note that it is our present standing with God that counts not what we were before...To conclude the words of Paul in 1cor 9 vs 24- 29 sums it all.,..Our Christian life is a race...The only one that receives the prize is the one that gets to the finish line not he who started the race....so once saved is not always saved and secondly its not Biblical. Thanks

What does the Bible say about Once Saved, Forever Saved? Let's find out!

This is what the Bible teaches about Once Saved, Always Saved. It is purely biblical. Set aside any misconception you may have had about the catchphrase and see the eternal nature of Salvation as it has always been in the scriptures- open, simple and clear!

Eternal security is false doctrine.

Saved believer can backslide and go to hell.

To be saved means to be saved from the fraud called Jesus. The moment you discover that Jesus is a fraud that's when you get saved.

That's what it means to be saved and once saved you'll be saved as long as you don't go back to the (Christian) vomit.

Wow. I did not know people in Nigeria knew this truth.

Christianity is the highest form of witchcraft and idolatry. I think Islam is the second. Both worshipping wood (the cross) and stone (the Kabba).

What does the Bible say about Once Saved, Forever Saved? Let's find out!

Salvation in Christ is the very central goal of the Bible. It is the end-goal of Faith, Grace, Mercy and several other subjects of the scriptures.

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." 2Ti 3:15 KJV

"Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you." 1Pe 1:9-10 KJV

The believer is instructed to properly study and understand it, and be diligent in teaching it.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2Ti 2:15 KJV

A proper understanding of the concept of Salvation as taught in the scriptures, will open up a well of unceasing joy in you. Your feet will be firm, not tossed about by every wind of doctrine. And like a tree planted by the riverside, you will grow and flourish in your walk with the Lord Jesus, bearing good fruits for Him.

So let's go back to answering the question we have at hand.

Is Once Saved, Always Saved Biblical?

The answer to this question largely depends on what you mean by "once saved, always saved"

This is because to some persons, the statement "once saved, always saved" is another way of saying "nothing you do as a Christian matters after salvation. The moment you are saved, you can go ahead and live as worldly as you want, you won't get punished for it. God doesn't and won't give a damn about that." This ideology is an error and certainly not what the "once saved, always saved" statement is all about.

In the real sense, "once saved, always saved" is a catchphrase that addresses the durability or eternal nature of the Salvation we received when we appropriated the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sin(s).

With this understanding of what the statement is truly about, let's then do justice to the question from the scriptures.

Is once saved, always saved really biblical?

In talking about the Salvation, Redemption or Eternal Life we have in Christ, the Bible repeatedly used the words "once", "everlasting", "forever", "eternal", "true" and "once and for all" to describe how it occurred and the longevity.

Pay close attention as you read through the Bible verses outlined below. Meditate on each of them briefly.

Joh 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 10:28-29 KJV 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Heb 5:9 KJV And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.

Heb 9:12 KJV Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Heb 9:15 KJV And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Heb 10:10-14 KJV 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

But can't a believer lose his Salvation and go to hell (perish) if he's not careful after he has been saved? You may ask.

In answer to that question, take a look at these verses one more time and meditate on them.

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10:28-29 KJV

The essence of Eternal Life is to keep the believer from perishing. Mind you, the believer is not the one keeping his Eternal Life from perishing. Eternal Life is actually what is keeping him from perishing. Whether he is careful how he lives his life on earth or not, that Eternal Life he has received continually keeps him from destruction.

However, a believer who foolishly lives in sin continually, will lose his rewards and will have nothing to show for his Salvation or Eternal Life in heaven.

Take note that I said he will lose his rewards in heaven, not his Salvation or Eternal Life. That is because the believer is committed with the responsibility of working for and keeping his heavenly rewards by living righteously on earth, not his Salvation or Eternal Life. That is God's part according to the scriptures.

Salvation (Eternal Life) is a gift he received on the basis of his Faith in the finished works of Christ, whereas heavenly rewards are dependent on his lifestyle while on earth here.

If he lives a godly lifestyle, a crown of glory awaits him in heaven. If he doesn't, he will not get anything reward from God in heaven though he is saved and shall spend eternity in heaven.

Eph 2:8-10 KJV 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

1Co 3:13-15 KJV 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

This is what the Bible teaches about Once Saved, Always Saved. It is purely biblical. Set aside any misconception you may have had about the catchphrase and see the eternal nature of Salvation as it has always been in the scriptures- open, simple and clear!

I hope this blesses you. Glory to God!

Will you say Pastor Apostle Suleiman is always saved ?

Stop blaming the devil, once saved is not always saved. That is called heresy.

Op read your Bible.

Romans 6:1-2

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
This your quote is the answer to all long story stated above.
When you're in sin grace will die, hence salvation is taken away. All you need doing is go back to the Father for renewal of faith, Romans 12: 1-2.

Now unbelief is sin... Those who don't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are in sin, are born sinner and will probably die sinner if they don't believe the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ. Now those who believed and acted otherwise still don't believed. So those who believed and acted according to the lay down principles of God through Jesus Christ are Saved.

Once saved always saved is not correct. Judas Iscariot was once saved, at the last minute he fast track the process of his destruction.
There is Temporary and Permanent Salvation. ''He that endures to the end'' is the key to permanent salvation.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Once saved ONLY always saved if WE DO NOT WANT AFTER THE FLESH.

See that its says 'there is therefore NOW'. For us to remain saved we must walk at the present & ALWAYS after the Spirit.

This is why I hate religion, see unnecessary argument, within the Christendom sef. No agreement, always disagreeing.

The above post or argument is unnecessary.
No hell. No heaven. No god. No devil.

Humans are both god and devil. (Each person choose what he or she wants to be)

No heaven or hell anywhere.

Death comes and that's all.
We all be what we were before birth.

This is a very simple concept to understand because God created the earth to replicate what the heavens is and stands for so there is a lot of similarity in concepts.

The question then should be:
If a man bears a son, what are the conditions under which the son ceases to be his or under what conditions will a son renounce his identity as the son of his father.

Understand this an there is the answer. Simple.

However, as a JW OSAS is unscriptural.

JW is a false religion. A perversion of Christianity created to ridicule God and his saving works. Turn away from that religion and turn to Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith. A word is enough for the wise

Just as you can kill yourself and cease to be a member of your family and a son of your father. It is still your decision. On your grave stone your Father's name will still follow yours inscribed.

What we fail to understand on this matter is the place of spiritual responsibility. God has done his part in bringing you into His kingdom just as your earthly father has done his part by bringing you into this world. You are also part responsible for the outcome of your life. You can throw it all away. It does not revoke your sonship.

The only thing that revokes your sonship is apostasy which is the earthly equivalent of you walking up to a registry or coming before a judge and demanding for your extrication from your family, i.e you denounce your father (parents). That is you sin against the Spirit and from that there is no coming back.

But trust me, God is love. He DOES NOT CAST PEOPLE AWAY. He is a responsible Father and will NEVER DENY HIS OWN. He is patient and will welcome back any prodigal son at anytime, day or night. Your sonship came at too high a cost for Him to treat you with levity.

However, like I said, you can decide to commit suicide, spiritually or physically. In that case, what do you want Him to do..... Judas killed himself.

It is biblical.
Let me put it in perspective.

Does it mean when a couple have issues or are quarreling, they are divorced? They may not be in talking terms but that does not mean they are divorced.
This is why the Bible gives room for reconciliation.
1 John 2:1
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus
Heb 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need

Please note that Hebrews says we should obtain and find. Not ask for mercy or grace. This was already given when you were saved and asked for it.

You use the word "reconciliation". OP is talking about people that continue to swim in sin and believed that Once saved, it's always saved" to justify their waywardness

After salvation there is a place of sanctification which is the work of the word and spirit and lastly Justification. If once saved always saved then where is the place of sanctification.
