A couple needs an advice relating to Tier 2 visa.

Wife got Tier 2 visa with her family, after 2years Husband also got a job with Tier 2 sponsorship. Wife intend to change her career and join husband on his Tier 2 visa.
If the family switches to husband's visa, will the 5year journey to settlement cycle reset at that point? or will they still be qualified for ILR at the end of the 3rd year on husband's visa? (considering that they've already spent 2years on the wife's visa)

I called wakanow, they tried booking for us from their side but got same response so they said they don't know the cause of the error message. They adviced we book another airlines but they are so expensive with longer hours

Greetings to all. I find myself in a bit of a pickle because I can't leave a place in Europe where I have a great career, a home, and a peaceful existence yet I actually detest the country. In order to start afresh, I intend to relocate to the UK. My main worry is that my current position, which pays well since I have years of expertise, may not be transportable to the UK. I'm hoping to use my sizeable funds to purchase a home in the UK that will help me pay some of the costs, but I need advice because I'm not sure it would be a good idea to quit my current position and start over.
If I was to take the risk, which parts of UK offers cheap properties as I am getting it without a mortgage and offers relatively high employment?

Moreover, is it worth it to take the risk?

The questions you need to ask yourself are -:

- Is it worth leaving my comfort zone, for an unknown
- is this a sensible gamble
- If things go soar, would I be happy to start afresh
- Are the factors forcing me out, not manageable

Lastly, nobody can advice you to relocate, it's ultimately your individualistic decision..........

Lexusgs430,

Your counsel is direly needed.

Under EU law, an EU citizen can travel with core family members visa free, which we did before brexit.

We haven’t gone on a trip post brexit and hence the apprehension if we would have issues with traveling to EU from UK with my partner visa free.

Destination is in Spain.

A reciprocal agreement is in place, allowing visa free periods. I think it's 90 days (would check and revert)..........

Enjoy your holiday at Costa Del Sol .......... (don't but any timeshare properties)...................... grin

Thanks for the swift response.
It’s just that one person has an EU passport and the spouse doesn’t (but has pre-settled status & a now defunct UK issued EU BRP) , can EU freedom of movement still be exercised regardless?

There are contradicting information online, hence the apprehension.

Indeed life is a risk.

Can you do a trial of the relocation ie stay in the uk for a month or two just to see?

Dependent visas are tied to the status of the visa of the main sponsor usually spouses, so your spouse if that is your case, will have to extend their visa for you to extend yours. If your spouse is settled already, then you can extend your dependent visa using your spouse's last COS.

Your employer will only be able to offer you a new sponsorship.

This, here, is the crux of Brexit. Freedom of Movement died with the activation of the Withdrawal Agreement. So, while EU/UK nationals could still travel and stay visa-free for a maximum of 90 days, their family members no longer have that right. In your case, the non-EU family member will require a Schengen visa.

Your write up is full of abstractions perhaps in a bid to conceal PII.
If you mention your specialisation, you might find out if the skill is transferable or not. You didn't mention your budget and family size as well. That been said you can get a one bedroom flat in stock on trent for £60k.
