Psalmz, you have tackled this issue the wrong way.

If the phone is new, why didn't you ask to confirm the IMEI on the box with that of the phone and that on the receipt to ensure that the defect is not from your own end?

There is no way a new phone would give this issues except if it's refurbished. Even at then, a reputable seller would find a way to come to terms with the buyer.

Even OnePlus and Samsung came to terms with customers that claimed their phone blew while charging. Are we hearing of their news again?

Deal with it, come to agreement and show NL that you can still be trusted.
