Transmission (gear) Specialist Needed. by Nobody: 9:58pm On May 25, 2011 |
I intend to install a new valve body for the auto transmission of my 2006 Nissan Maxima. Can any body in the house refer me to proficient and reliable transmission specialist? Thanks. |

Do you have any other code apart from the transmission code stored in the ECM? |

check level and color of your transmission fluid, if you have had anything done prior. it will be good to say how it came to this point. First thing I will normally advice is to clear codes then see if it comes back up. Checked online for the fault o Maxima forum and if its what they say(which seems to be very common) you have a problem(a word I have never used seems you are the first I've seen to have a trans failure) If it just started suddenly, have them do a transmission service(drop pan and change filter if applicable) while the pan is off take a good look at all electrical connection especially shift solenoid. If that does not fix it, you will be biting a bullet on this one; order the part from transgo and see if it will help(or go all the way order a new Nissan valve body) http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generation-maxima-2004-2008/619051-04-nissan-maxima-tranny-problem-help.html Worst case scenario, there will be a deal on a naija used maxima on nairaland 1 Like |

Thanks pal. I'm an avid member of forums.maxima-org and my6th gen.org. I've gone through the symptons and the the tranny itself scanned. The matter has also been examined in the two discussion groups. (See my posts in the relevant threads). I already know of the options available from the transgo kit, sonnax, levelten and Valvebody Builders. However, I've decided ( a number of members in the forum who have similar problems agree) that i should get a new valve body from Nissan. I have placed an order for it, I'm now only hoping to find a good gear specialist here who would install it for me. |

I guess you are too far away to offer any solution. Thanks for the bump. |
