Making it remotely in Nigeria has different aspects, and one of many is the nitch but neglected part of software development which is the Gaming field.
Bellow, I'd try and explain some ways to monetize this skill without consideration of the daunting geographical location we find ourselves not just in Nigeria but in Africa


Game development Is a whole big concept but I would try to give a little insight because game dev is broad, So with Game dev, you can earn a lot (am talking about up to $$$$), so there are different aspects in it...

1. INDIE GAME DEV(Self-publishing): in this case, you create the Game and Publish it to Google play store or App store and you put ads in it, then do something called "ASO" meaning "App Store Optimization", what this ASO can do is to help rank your game/App in top search which will lead to organic downloads and once you're having enough organic downloads from high targeted regions e.g US, then ads will show to each individual that downloaded it... And if those individuals are mainly from top countries like the US, Germany, France and more, you earn more

2. PUBLISHERS: You can just create games(Prototypes) and show them to Game publishers to test, each publisher have their requirements(KPIs) and if your game passes the requirements, your game is likely to get published under their account and they'll pay you a huge amount of money for a long time because you'll be in contact with them for at least years after the game is published by them and they have an amount at which they pay you, most of them will pay on Launch Day(When Game is about to be Published) up to $100k while some $150k and after that, every month they pay you nothing less than $40k for the number of years in the contract... So imagine your game passed and the contract will last for 3 years... So imagine how much you'll be making. Examples of Game publishers are "Voodoo", "Crazy Labs", "SuperSonic" and more.

3: Selling of Games: you can create Games and sell them online, there are tons of stores where you can sell your games e.g Unity asset store, Coda platform ẹ.t.c and you can sell at a rate of $500+ and people do buy (But must be of quality)

4: Freelance: with creating Games, you can have a client that will tell you to create games for him/her and you'll be paid per project(Game).
