Regardless of where and how you purchased your sneakers, the brand type and the quality of your sneakers, proper maintenance will keep them constantly looking brand new and help them last longer. Here are some useful tips to help maintain your sneakers:

1. Get breathable Sneakers: They are made of materials that allow air water and vapour to escape while cooler air penetrates your sneakers which helps to prevent sweat accumulation, a cause of fungal and bacterial infections in the foot.

2. Treat Them: Canvas should be treated with a suitable spray while protectant spray should be used for suede and leather sneakers to help repel water and stains. Allow the spray to dry totally before using your sneakers, as this is very important in keeping them continuously looking brand new.

3. Socks Wearing: Wearing socks ( long or ankle) with Sneakers will keep them smelling fresh.

4. Spot Cleaning: On return home after using your sneakers, take some time to spot clean stains or dirt off sneakers. Use baby wipes for tougher stains and warm water on a microfibre cloth for mild stains.

5. Laces: Maintain laces by soaking them in warm water and a good detergent, when dry iron them before relacing them for an extra polished look or change the lace . This helps to give your Sneakers a new facelift.

6. Limit Bleaching: Do not use too much bleach in trying to restore your sneakers to white colour, just add a little portion to a bowl of warm water. Using too much bleach can do more damage to your Sneakers. Use an alternative of baking Soda and water for a more gentle and effective cleaning solution.

7. Storage: When not in use keep your sneakers away from direct sunlight, which can cause discolouration. Store them in the original box they came with or dust bags to keep them in great condition. Insert dryer sheets into them when not in use to keep them smelling fresh and absorb moisture.
