Ulcer

Ulcers are sores that are slow to heal or keep returning. They can take many forms and can appear both on the inside and the outside of your body.They can be found on places of your body you can see, such as a leg ulcer found on the skin or in places you can’t see, such as peptic ulcer in the lining of your or stomach upper intestine. From your eye to your foot, you can get them just about anywhere on your body

Injuries , diseases, and infections can cause them. What they look like depends on where you have them and how you got them. While some go away on their own, others cause serious problems if you don’t treat them.

Types of ulcer


1. Peptic ulcer (stomach ulcer and is of 3 types , gastric, duodenal and esophagus ulcer)


2. Genital ulcer( penis, virginal & anus)


3. Mouth ulcer


4. Venous ulcer


5. Arterial ulcer

But our major concern is the peptic ulcer which is very common among

The people at the risk of having ulcer as as follows
1. Family with history of ulcer record
2. People that Frequently take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), a group of common pain relievers Eg ibuprofen , Aspirin

3. Smokers


4. Alcoholic people



How Is Peptic Ulcer Diagnosed /tested?

If your doctor suspects you might have a peptic ulcer, he will take a full medical history and perform a physical exam. Diagnostic tests you might take include:
* Lab test for H. pylori A blood, stool, test may be used to determine whether H. pylori bacteria are present in your body.

Causes of ulcer

Contrary to the belief that when you stay hungry or fast too much you will have ulcer .
As a matter of fate you could stay for 6 days without food and still be alive so long you are taking water.

The causes of ulcer includes
1. Drinking and eating contaminated water and fruits

2. the bacterium named Helicobacter pylori (H pylori),

3 . Alcohol

4. Smoking

6. Prolong use of NSAID eg aspirin, ibuprofen

7. Excessive Caffeine


8. Eating of excessive spicy food
9. Stomach acid *****


Signs and symptoms of ulcer.

* vomiting blood — which may appear red or black
* Dark blood in stools, or stools that are black or tarry
* Trouble breathing
* Bloating
* Feeling of fainting
* Nausea or vomiting
* Chest burn
* Unexplained weight loss
* Pain in the stomach
* Appetite changes


Food to abstain from

As for the ulcer patient
I will advise you not to take orange or any other citrus fruit (ascorbic acid )because the acidic content are high hence will make it worst.

And avoid taking milk too (lactic acid)
Avoid alcohol ,added salt ,
avoid spice food , hot food
coffee and also caffeine along side with NSAID ( non steroid anti inflammatory drugs) eg ibuprofen

And also any food that makes you feel discomfort as an individual (personal )
Also avoid late night food ,pepper food, fried food and fatty food


Food to eat always

banana (a must take for ulcer patients)
2. Cucumbers
3. Watermelon
4. Cabbage
5. Carrot
6. Yoghurt (very good)
7. Apple
8. Green vegetables

Note : make sure that any fruit or vegetables you are eating is not spoil or rotten and wash very well before eating please.



TREATMENT
For some medical reasons ( medical ethics) i will not be saying the drugs for the treatment of ulcer .
You must have been diagnosed of ulcer before taking any ulcer drugs
