How to Reduce Facebook Data Usage

If you’re a frequent Facebook user, you’ll probably be curious about this: Why Is My iPhone Or Android Phone Using So Much Data From Facebook?

On iPhones, here’s how to save data on Facebook:

1. Turn off the auto-play feature on videos.

Because the auto-play feature eats up a lot of data with every video it auto-plays on Facebook, this is the simplest way to save data on Facebook. Follow the steps below to turn it off:
Open the Facebook app and select “More” from the menu (it is represented by 3 parallel lines at the bottom right-hand corner.)
Scroll all the way to the bottom and tap “Settings.” There will be a pop-up window. Select the first option, “Account Settings.”
Select “Videos and Photos” from the drop-down menu.
Select the corresponding choice on when and how auto-videos are played. You can choose between “On Wi-Fi connections only” or “Never auto-play videos”. Either one is fine since both choices will not use your mobile data.
