The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned one Toluwalade John Olateru-Olagbegi before Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court one sitting in Ibadan on one count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N35,500,000,00

The Owo Prince, Ondo state, who resides at Bodija, allegedly collected the sum from the complainant on the pretext of trading in forex.

The charge reads: ” That you, Toluwalade John Olateru-Olagbegi on or about 4th of March, 2021, at Ibadan within the Ibadan Judicial Division of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of Thirty Five Million and Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N35,500,000:00) only from Julius Olorunsogo Alase (a Nigeria Businessman) on behalf of Lusan Royal Trading by false pretending it was part payment of cost of an inflow of One Million United States of America Dollars (USD $1,000,000:00)only you claimed to have secured for him; which representations you knew to be false and you thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1(1)(a) and punishable under section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006.”

The defendant pleaded ‘not guilty’ when the charge was read to him.

Justice Agomoh thereafter ordered the remand of the defendant in the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Agodi and adjourned the case till October 25, 2021, for hearing of the bail application and November 15, 2021, for commencement of trial.

Never hand your money over to anyone to help you trade forex. Instead, learn the basics of forex trading and go to platforms like octafx to do copy trading (to copy the trade of experts).

No matter how much of an expert someone you meet outside these platform is, the most deal you should have with them is to pay them to send you entry and exit trading signals.

Sad, this guys were always riding in limo when their dad was alive.

Morals...no matter how esteemed your position is in life, always remember to train your children in the manner you were once trained which earned you the stepping stone, becoming great in life, so that once you depart this world, they'd be strong enough and resilient to weather the storm of life.

Sadly, this isn't peculiar to a particular tribe. Once wealth had covered our face, we soon forget our beginnings and how we got there, now leaving our children lazy and vulnerable. Too bad. I also remember the Ojukwu Chukwumerije, Uwais and Abdmutallab families...

Late Olateru Olagbegi was an influential and highly educated monarch who was surrounded by wealth. What a pity.

I also remember one of the famous sons of MKO, Kola's younger brother from another mother who was charged for fraud a few years ago. He was allegedly involved in a scan of less than 40m naira, the money he could dash his gf when his dad was alive.
