Please note that having money in your account is different from your worth. Many salary earners who earn top salaries are involved in building projects e.t.c and other businesses that means you just keeping money in your account might not be worth it.

So no be say people no get money o, but them no just dey keep am for account.

Bros' forget that level abeg. We are talking about just N500,000 naira here. And I think all of that have been put into consideration.....it should not be that bad not to have upto N500,000 in yhur account no matter the investment.

It is just like not having upto N1 in yhur simcard simply because yhu do make alot of calls. lols

I hope yhu understand my point though.

Naira no get value again.

Most ppl prefer their money in commodities, goods, monuments, shares etc

Once money pass 500k for account most ppl start to panic because that money go soon lose value. 500k in say may is about 300k in value now.

A carton of smart perfume spray in May was about 38k but now it's over 50k.. what it means is that in April,380k would get u 10cts of the spray.. but now u will need over 500k for same qty now.. Get the drift now?

So that's why ppl prefer to have their money in alternative form.

99% is an alarming percentage! Damn it! Forget all the packaging, Nigerians are really poor! cry

But then, I think enlightened Nigerians are increasingly saving their money in USD and other stablecoins because naira is on free fall.

Despite that, it doesn't negate the fact that Nigerians are living on the breadline.
Money in the bank ain't shitt.

Nigerians are living to survive.

We may not have much to save, buh we ain't begging shitt from buhari.

Come December, I'll be at a Lagos beach celebrating myself.

Did you hear the cut off amount ? A person building must have N500k in his account.

Ordinary N500,000 ??

Haba, somebody building a house can spend N500,000 on a construction site in one day.

These items supplies to site in one day is over N500,000.

2 trips of sand is N34,000.

2,000 blocks is N400,000 depending on block size.

20 bags of cement is N70,000.

Is that not N504,000

Don't make example with things you haven't involved in.

Workmanship and stone no follow.

It's a shame to even say 99.4% of your citizens dont have upto $1,000. How then are you fighting corruption, insecurity, out of school children and vote buying?

The quickest and effective way out is to introduce the mortgage system to the middle and lower class.
Their wicked heart will not allow it,

Little wonder Nigeria is one of the few countries that doesn't operate credit card system

Buhari and APC only came to steal, to kill and to destroy. Satanic agenda and nothing more. They have succeeded in improverishing Nigerians. Now they are strategizing on how to Continue in 2023. Nigerians should use their senses and reject them and PDP . We have credible and capable Nigerians across the length and breadth of this country all they want is our votes.

The headline is misleading.

What is written in the headline is different from the content

The content of the article didn't say 99.4% Of Bank accounts contain less than 500k

What was written was that 99.4% of Bank accounts are insured and that the N500,000 insurance coverage limit fully covered 99.4% of depositors incase any bank goes bankrupt.
Thank you. The only other sensible person on this platform. How can anyone actually believe this rubbish title.

Nigerians and misinterpretation, not having up to 500k in your bank account doesn't mean you are poor.

Some Nigerians prefer mobile banks, some are into crypto investment like block chain, while some prefer street ways of saving money(if you know what I mean)

Ogaboss the jamb regirar, statistics don't lie... wherever you live look around you.

You can find heavy poverty around you.

The ability to muster up liquid assets (cash) quickly is also telling of a person's financial well being. You don't want to be looking for a buyer for your land if a severe sickness hits. Or children need to pay high fees.

Most of us are a sickness away from being bankrupt.

May God help us.

Why should we keep money in accounts when naira is going down, banks are eating us dry and government is taking stamp duty from US... Only an idiot will keep naira in banks.

Me personally I have my money stored in laptops I sell and the others invested in crypto currencies, stable coins, dollars and land purchases.

I have 50k in naira account and I am OK with that
