News - Apostle Constance C. Friday finally comments on Sylvester Oromoni's death and Dowen College's role in his death.

Circumstances surrounding Oromoni's death are criminal in nature. Dowen college played a major role in allowing Sylvester to get killed. Arrests should be made. Culprits should be detained. It could have been prevented by School authorities. Dowen College should be censored or shut if sensible explanations are not given by the school administration.
It's really sad he didn't survive what many Folks have survived in a Society that tolerates bullying and calls it a norm or sign of strength.
- Says Apostle Constance C. Friday.

I just want to take a few moments to talk about Bullying:

Here are a few facts about Bullying which you need to know.

1. It is wrong in every way but if society tolerates it, it thrives. Anything Society frowns at ceases to thrive over time.

2. Bullies are weak persons who thrive by being mean, scary or violent to a seemingly soft target.
Yes, take note of the term "Soft Target". This means a bully will avoid you if they know they won't get away with messing with you.
Looking soft and easy to take advantage of encourages a bully to try a pick on the soft target.

3. Keeping silent when you're being bullied encourages the bully to take the act of bullying one notch higher. Silence never makes a bully stop, it encourages a bully to increase the bullying antics.

4. Bullies deserve to be called out named and shamed. Naming and shaming is a very effective way to tame them.

5. Acts of bullying shouldn't be tolerated. They should be severely punished. If bullies get away with an act of bullying, it encourages them to go on and on.

Now onto the Oromoni case:
All the blame falls on the School Authorities for being very tolerant of bullying.
Being a private school, it's most likely the financial effects of dismissal of bullying students or pupils was more important than the safety and healthy social environment of the school.

I wonder why those involved are cool and calm while the students involved are flown abroad by their families while the Parents and family of the late Student are bearing the pain.
What do we have the Police for? it's a criminal case that should be thoroughly investigated.
The students involved should be arrested and detained!

Beating a person till death is not a light case that should be swept aside without criminal prosecution.

Oromoni's parents should bend the atmosphere even to ensure that justice is served so other potential bullies should take precautions.

And for such kind of cult to exist in a private school without any questions, the school's license should be revoked by the government.

This is not a joke.

We shouldn't take this issue lightly, especially if you're a Parent who sends Children to school regularly.

It's not "one of those things" like we too often say here in Nigeria.

The incidents that led to the death of Sylvester Oromoni are CRIMINAL IN NATURE
The Family should press charges, seek for Justice and prosecution of the culprits.

The Nigerian Police should take the matter up it's an SCID Case that has drawn national attention!

The School should be thoroughly scrutinized and the culprits detained!

In fact Jailed!

Bad Parenting is absolutely far from the issue here; the School administration clearly is involved in this and arrests and detentions should be made!
