JAMB SET TO COMMENCE ACCREDITATION OF JAMB CBT CENTERS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE 2022 EXAM

As part of its preparations for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has concluded all arrangements to validate and accredit centres to be used for the exam.
The final briefing, which was hosted virtually from the Board’s National Headquarters, discussed the modalities for the accreditation of centres to be used for the conduct of the 2022 UTME.

JAMB set to commence accreditation of CBT centres for 2022 UTME
The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, while declaring the meeting open, said, “The exercise is necessary so as to assess the conduct of the 2021 UTME as well as look at those areas requiring improvement.”
Putting the stakeholders through the guidelines and requirements for the accreditation exercise, Director, Information Technology Services (ITS), Mr Fabian Okoro, announced that there would be about six centres across the six geopolitical zones which would be used to test run the new-age technology which the Board is hoping to deploy. The Chief Technical Advisers (CTA) were mandated to ensure that thorough checks on the CCTV installations and other security devices of the various centres are carried out. Mr Okoro also said, “If centres are not adequately covered, centre owners must make provisions to install more cameras as remote monitoring of the examination is non-negotiable.”

The situation of education in the world is changing rapidly. With the rise of technology, new methods of learning are emerging that challenge, traditional educational models. While this offers opportunities for students to learn in new and innovative ways, it can also be challenging for educators to keep up with the latest trends. Students are well aware of how to find assignment writers that can do their task professionally while they indulge themselves in other important matters.

SALE OF UTME AND DE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS STARTS SOON

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will soon commence the sale of application documents/ registration for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).

The Board, is at the moment, engaging its core functionaries in a series of intensive training exercises to ensure that once the date is announced, the stage would have been set for yet another hitch-free exercise.

The release of this information is in line with the Board’s firm determination to ensure that candidates who are desirous of enrolling are ready and prepared.

Similarly, it is expected to serve as a wake-up call so that all who may want to register would have gone to first obtain their
National Identification Number (NIN), a major prerequisite for the UTME registration.
For those who may want to obtain any of the two application documents, they are advised to get their NIN, familiarize themselves with the Board’s Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS), which would give them an idea of the course requirements and the syllabus they are expected to cover for the examination.

IBASS is on the Board’s website and is downloadable on Google Playstore and other similar platforms. The next step is for the candidate to create his/her profile by sending the NIN to
55019 to create a profile for registration.
The Board has put adequate measures in place not only to checkmate those who may want to cheat but also strengthened all administrative procedures for the smooth prosecution of any candidate, centre or even staff of the Board found to have been involved in any infraction starting from the registration exercise.

*NIN, OTHERS TO DELAY 2022 UTME REGISTRATION, SAYS JAMB*

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, on Monday, stated that pre-examination activities, including registration for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination would start late due to forces beyond its control.

The board also defended its decision to enforce the National Identity Number requirement in the registration process.

The spokesman for the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the clarifications in an interview with The PUNCH in Abuja.

“Most of the board’s pre-examination activities, including the 2022 UTME registration, are starting late owing to some circumstances beyond our control. We are, however, ready to do all that is necessary not only to meet up with the schedule, but also to make the 2022 UTME registration and examination the best so far,” he said.

The board stated in its weekly bulletin published on Monday that its decision to implement the NIN was a game-changer in the fight against impersonation.

Benjamin said, “The introduction of the NIN in UTME registration in 2021 by the board was a game-changer in the fight against impersonation and other examination infractions. It is to be noted that the decision to adopt the NIN was a very difficult one given the various challenges and opposition from many quarters to the policy.

“However, the board, seeing the many benefits associated with the deployment of the NIN, took the unpopular but beneficial decision, knowing that any departure from the norm would, more often than not, be met with initial opposition and rejection, and was, therefore, understandably undeterred in its chosen course of action.”

*SOLOMONCARES NEWS UPDATE*

*JAMB Hopes for
Better 2022 UTME: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)*

Jamb has vowed to make the 2022 Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination (UTME) the
best so far.
It however stated, "It is reasonable to
expect that 2022 might turn out to be a
very engaging year as most of the Board’s pre-examination activities are starting
late owing to some circumstances
beyond its control, but the Board is ready
to do all that is necessary not only to
meet up with its schedules but also to
make the 2022 UTME Registration and
Examination the best so far.”
Giving stock of its activities in 2021, JAMB
said the introduction of the National
Identification Number (NIN) as a key
requirement for UTME registration
through its partnership with the National
Identity Management Commission
(NIMC) was a game-changer in the fight
against impersonation and other
examination infractions.
That singular move, according to JAMB, has substantially addressed the
seemingly intractable challenge of
impersonation and identity theft in all its
operations.
